Like I said, if he can't go on a run in the tournament this year, he's done. Either Barta needs to fire him or Fran takes another job, but that's the end of it.
Every employee who has been fired at Iowa for performance can come back and sue Iowa ..

Barta is a puss. No way Fran gets the ax for a mediocre performance when BF only gets his wrist slapped for being horrendous.
Just expect it, Iowa will always lose 10 or more games a season and never reach the sweet 16 under Fran. It is what it is, Fran is here as long as he wants to be. Barta is not going to fire him if he if has hasn't done it already.

Fran is too good of a guy to take up all of his sons college basketball experience with this bs.

Another March Madness ruined by poor guard play and no defense. The two main components to a long tournament run. BAU!

Wouldn't matter. Fran's been here how many years and he can't teach defense? He's been a D1 coach for how long? Bring in an assistant coach who knows MORE about defense than a long tenured head coach? Sorry but this starts and ends with Fran. He's been in the game too long not to figure how to correct and fix the defensive deficiencies that are a constant with his teams year in and year out.
If you live & die with the 3 and the shots aren't falling you better be able to stop somebody if you expect to stay in the game.
Barta finds mediocrity fine, as long as they continue to pay him.
We just witnessed the BF fiasco and you think he has the balls to do anything??
He doesn't need balls to have someone make this decision for him........
He was done years ago. Good coaches must just sit back and laugh at the lack of defense Fran’s teams play.
