Probably the biggest shortcoming of his game day coaching. No excuse to wait until you're down 20 with a few minutes left in the half to take your first T.O. I see so many times that teams take a timeout to thwart a Hawkeye run, but we seem to always wait until it's already out of hand. It seriously could have been a completely different game had he settled his guys down at the 10 minute mark of the 1st half. I hope he learns from this, because next year's team is gonna have some growing pains, and there could be a lot more games like this if he doesn't figure out when his team needs to sit and be coached.

Lol, calling a timeout had nothing to do with getting blown out by a team that is light years better than Iowa.

I agree about the time out call. Hoping 'Nova is not light years ahead of Iowa... need some quick kids and ballers... along with a power forward who can slam it.

While you're probably right about the final result of today's game, I don't think you can argue with my overall point.

perhaps, but not sure I've ever seen a coach in a big game not take a TO as the opponent goes on a run til his team was down by 23 points. And why no TO in the 2nd half as the lead got up to 34? At some point you gotta try to break their momentum up and calm your team down.

I mean is there a benefit to saving the timeouts when you get down that big I am unaware of?
