He was upset about Garza going on Jim Rome for some reason then complained about Rothstein.
What really upsets me is if Jon Rothstein was pumping up Iowa State then all cyclone local guys would be retweeting, quoting articles and going on KXNO letting you know the national media is watching. Hawkeye local media gets freaking jealous lol..... I will admit David Eickholt has embraced the national media. That kind of exposure is great for the program and won’t last forever.
I don't think he was upset that Garza was going on Rome, he was upset the Iowa Hoops Twitter page was pushing the interview and not pushing local stories.
This. Why does the Iowa AD promote someone like Rome (dushbag who has trashed Iowa) over Iowa beat reporters? I think that was his gripe.

I would hope Docht would recognize the significance of a national report
And does he want the program to push his reports for monetary gain( pushing traffic his way). And does he want a cookie for you know, doing his job. I would guess he does not do his reporting out of goodness of his heart
In my opinion the AD should promote the student athlete and when a student athlete gets a national audience they should promote that.
I don't think Iowa should have anything to do with Jim Rome. JMHO.
Dochterman was bent out of shape because the AD promoted Garza on the Jim Rome show. That was my point.

the iowa beat guys literally only write about iowa. And they have zero national following.
I guarantee that everyone who follows iowa hoops on Twitter also follows every writer.
Minor controversy aside, Fran once again does a good job in that interview of representing the university.
