Fran talks about why Beilein left Michigan & whether other Colleges Tamper w/ Players (they do)

Interesting statement. You do realize that at many schools 2 sports make all the money for the athletic department and sometimes only one makes money and at Iowa the Athletic Department is not subsidized by the Tax payer. Which sports are you willing to give up?
Keep in mind you will still need to stay Title IX compliant.

Feel free to read up on myths #3 and #6

You’re just being dumb at this point. Transfer game is a lot different than the cheating game which you suggested. Just stop because you’re making yourself look foolish now.

And you have no idea what Fran’s intentions are in the transfer game.

His intentions have been pretty clear. If you can't see them, that's on you.

Iowa would absolutely benefit. The athletic program is top 15-20 in the country in revenue, but we don’t cheat and play payers. Removing that barrier would be a good thing for honest programs that have money.
I disagree. I don’t believe the University of Iowa (President, faculty, and maybe even Barta) care about athletics beyond the $$$$ that pour in. I think it is HIGHLY unlikely they would pay players if it were allowed.

So, wait, Iowa was not in the final two for a transfer just a little while ago? :)

Yep, at least we know where to stand each time.

So which is it David? Stay out of the transfer game, finish second to another school, and/or tamper with other schools players.

Good call David, clear as mud. But this conversation all started with you saying Fran needs to start cheating too. You’re clueless.

You don't think Iowa's athletic program expenditures are competitive with the rest of the country? The coaches are well paid, and the facility upgrades in the last 10 years have been pretty competitive.

Clueless is the man who accepts Fran's strategy of mediocrity. I feel sorry for you.

Mediocrity is 23 wins and second round of the tournament? Like I said, clueless. Then again, you feel Fran should cheat so that speaks to your character.

Yeah, his career at Iowa is very mediocre. One first round win doesn't change that. You like the word clueless a lot but yet don't seem to understand what it means. It is clear that Fran isn't good enough when he doesn't cheat so suggesting cheating might bring him up to the level of a being a good coach. Sorry, I want him to succeed at Iowa. For some reason you think this is the best Iowa can do. A mediocre coach who doesn't like leaving the state to recruit, has a temper problem that is embarrassing, plays his own kids over better players, refuses to recruit transfers like other schools, refuses to get help coaching defense, and tries to get Dolphin fired because of some immature beef with him.

My god you post ignorant things and then you go and out do yourself with this beauty. Well done. Where do I start to refute your nonsense?

Fran’s career at Iowa may look mediocre to you due to the huge pile of steaming crap he’s inherited. Once Fran brought Iowa back from Todd Lickliter, they’ve been well above mediocre. One NCAA tournament win? You think that is all that Fran has accomplished at Iowa? You wonder why you’re associated so closely with the word clueless.

You return to suggesting Iowa cheat. That makes you a complete POS. You want to root for cheaters, take your ass to another school. Lord knows there are plenty of them and no room for that at Iowa. The fact you continue to suggest it speaks way more about you than anything else.

The best part of your post: 1) I think Fran is the best Iowa can do. Let’s be very clear here. You have absolutely no clue on what I think. Other than thinking you’re an embarrassment disguised as an Iowa fan.
2) Fran doesn’t like leaving the state to recruit? How can you honestly post that and have anyone take you seriously? Do you know many games Fran drove to watch Tyler Ulis play? Guys like Cook, Moss, Garza, Ellingson, Nunge, Wagner, Olaseni, Clemmons.... all must be from Iowa. I’d continue with a lot more players but most already understand your assertion is completely baseless.
3)Fran plays his own kids (plural) over better players. Well Fran has only played one of his kids so far. None of which were “over” better players. Please list all of the better players missing out to CM.
4) refuses to get help coaching defense. That’s been documented enough to know you’re full of crap there.
5) refuses to recruit transfers... what do you call the offers to several transfers in the last month then? Again, you’re either ignorant or a liar. I’m going with both.
6) Tries to get Dolph fired. Completely untrue and more of your opinion that youre trying to pass off as fact.

Calm done there, son. It seems you have an anger problem. Might want to get that looked at.

I’ll go out on a limb and guess the people who are playing by the rules. Those who are trying to win the right way.
"Right" and "wrong" are pretty subjective here. The rules only matter as long as teams agree to them and it seems like there is push to change the recruiting rules. Again, in the end it's still 5 on 5, there is already a lot of disparity between programs.

I'm not up to date on all the rules and I may sound old school (get off my lawn) but

I'd like if they just made scholarships an "NCAA eligibility" contract. The school you sign with, you stay with for the entirety of your NCAA eligibility.

Make it a 2 way street. The player is guaranteed to have the scholarship through the entirety of their NCAA eligibility and the team is guaranteed the student athlete through his entire NCAA eligibility.

Then have a short list of ways that the contract can be broken. (Head Coach leaves, major NCAA violations by school or player, player wants to move up/down to D1/D2)

What's the harm in teaching these young guys commitment to a school/team/coach/teammates?

This would kill a program like Iowa. Who would sign their college career away at age 17 unless it's to a UNC type program? I bet we'd see more walk-ons, which arent under any control.

Ignorant people are frustrating, especially when they don’t know they’re ignorant. I’m sure you’re used to it.
