Fair. But, is it luck? Even if it is luck, good teams tend to create their own "luck" by keeping themselves in position to take advantage of it.
Wisconsin lost two starters in Price and Reuters. Potter was a key reserve who transferred in from OSU. If I remember correctly, We were picked 9th and Wisconsin 10th preseason. Gard has done a hell of a job and so has Fran for what was lost and how he has developEd this years team.
For the record, I loathe Wisconsin. I wish Juwan Howard would have pimped slapped Gard instead of the assistant coach and if somebody would have laid out Davison that would have been my new screen shot of him laying on the court with a bloody face!
Unfortunately, Gard is going to win Coach of the year.

I’m with Robbie Hummel, I wouldn’t want to play us either. Nobody is saying that about Wisconsin. I think we will advance farther than them, the rugby style shit won’t fly with refs from different conferences!
Riiight. Since Iowa's last sweet 16 Wisconsin has had 3 final 4's and 1 runner up, SIX regular season BTC's, 4 elite 8's and TEN s16's. As much as they dominate us head to head and with west titles in football the programs aren't even comparable in basketball. I'll take those results damned the style. Basically we are their bitch in both of the big 2 sports as much as it sucks to say
I would not be surprised if Iowa advanced farther than Wisconsin in the tournament, but style of play is not going to be the reason. If that were the case, shouldn’t Wisconsin regularly be performing poorly in the non-conference and in the tournament?
And this Wisconsin team is easily the least “rugby style” they have been in a long time. There is no big, physical post presence. The defense is good, but not great. They are in the top half of the conference in tempo, which is unheard of around these parts haha
Idk a single badger fan who loves Davison. I live in Madison and have a ton of buddies who are UW grads and fans. They like him because he helps them win, but they also think he’s a tool and a dork.
This post is spot on, we haven't been able to hold their proverbial jockstrap in hoops for awhile now...I'd like to think we are (somewhat) closing the gap in football though. And yes, I am still bitter that Melvin Gordon flipped on us.

Badgers are good and have a legit next level player in Johnny Davis. Wisky will go as Davis goes. Davison on the other hand is a sideshow attraction whose fifteen minutes of fame are about to come to an end.
Per your point, he was not at all sprinting to get in the action with Juwan and company....he was much more interested in lining up to sing!
We've won six of the last ten against them (and 67-58 all-time). If that is the definition of bitch, I guess I'll own it. There are some Iowa "fans" on this board that just look for ways to make the Hawks look bad.
That said, I think McCaffery will be the runner-up to Gard for COTY. In fact, given the respect that some give Iowa in the media, I wouldn't be surprised to see him finish lower.
