Doesn't take a genius to look at the Hawks with one of their few dependable shooters from beyond the arc (CJ) out to see that best defense is to can collapse their entire D onto Garza, keep an eye on Weiskamp...and basically let everyone else in a Hawk uniform do what they please away from the basket as none of them are very dependable or consistent...especially on the road shooting from outside It worked.

Despite the horrible shooting from outside....on the road, homer refs and of course depleted by injuries...the mighty Huskers powered by all their transfer and foreign import mercenaries....and one lunatic walk-on, played their best game of the year....and won by whopping 6!! BRAVO!

They really socked it to the Hawks (as the World Herald exclaimed on their front page of the paper with a huge picture of one of the heavily tattooed mercenaries flexing (no kidding on very front page of the news...not sports page) And so the delusional wagon forged ahead another day in Nebraska.

Iowa is in deep trouble with this depleted roster. Fred was the first coach to have to deal with the Hawks down 3 starters and a potential 6th man all hurt. Pack it in around Garza and make Joe W, the only true shooter left, to beat you from the outside. Pemsl shot a 3 and missed, against Nebby, how bad has it become?

To be fair, Bugeater fans can make whatever claims they want about the relative competence of their head coach, but the truth is, Joe W. and other Hawks got wide open shots all night but bricked them. If Joe, in particular, hits his normal percentage of threes, we come away with an easy victory. We just picked a bad night to go ice cold against the worst team in the league.
