We lost this game on the last 3rd& 1 with 3:39 to go. I know we will all play arm chair quarterback but the call needed to be a play action boot to the right and layered with a tight end and wr crossing to the boundary. It’s a call that takes guts. Most coaches have realized to win more games than not, these are the types of calls you need to make. We can all give Brian a cop out and say how Kirk still has his hands on the offense, but in the moment, if Brian makes that call, Kirk would not change it. And the with 3:39 left in the game and the play call stopping after every first down, trying to get them to burn that last time out is a moot point. Sometimes you have to play to win the game with your offense. The only other good thing from this loss is how undeniably clear it is Petra’s is not a good Quarterback. This program is close to being great, but they need to break their own mold in order to grow.
