He’s not wrong. Trans folks deserve equal rights, and they deserve our goodwill and compassion. But since Title IX liberals have been fighting to protect women’s sports, and the traditional liberal in me finds this to be a matter of fairness, and a matter of protecting women’s athletics.

Certainly there are mean-spirited bigots who also fight against trans in women’s sports. And they have that stance for bad reasons. But I’m not going to change my opinion just because some lowlifes agree.

I’d think an adult would be a little more mature about it and not care what a few people think. Being popular is everything for an 12-13 year old. Doing the right thing for the American people should be priority #1 for a politician. It should be an easy decision. Especially when a whole other group of people (republicans) and some democratic voters would agree with him.

When in fact there hasn’t been Dem politicians advocating for trans women to play women’s sports. They were just too dumb to realize what was happening and didn’t say anything about it. Sometimes common sense leaves people when they try to let everyone do whatever they want in the guise of fairness. Have you seen any politician publicly pushing letting trans women compete against women in sporting competitions? I haven’t. If there have been I haven’t seen it. Any laws proposed to allow it by Dems?

I watched a documentary on the issue a few years ago and it really opened my eyes about the subject. I think it's like 90-95% of transgender athletes aren't even high level athletes. As we have something that looks like a self coup going on, threats towards a ton of countries, switching sides to back Russia, and the price of eggs soaring my care about trans athletes competing in sports is at an all time low. It seems pretty god damn inconsequential.

Schools and colleges largely could not ban nonbinary and transgender students from sports teams, the Biden administration said Thursday in a long-promised proposed rule to protect these students from discrimination.

“Every student should be able to have the full experience of attending school in America, including participating in athletics, free from discrimination," U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in a statement that included details of the rule.

The proposal comes at a time when a number of states are banning transgender students from participating on sports teams that align with their gender identity.

"Under the proposed regulation, schools would not be permitted to adopt or apply a one-size-fits-all policy that categorically bans transgender students from participating on teams consistent with their gender identity," the Education Department said.

Finally. I got lit up a bit on here for saying that Harris should have done EXACTLY this. It was blatantly obvious this is the way to get this issue off Dems backs.

He is still unelectable to the presidency at the moment. No California politician is winning the swing states until something dramatic changes in the minds of the electorate. I applaud him for stating his view. He’s right, but I also don’t really care all that much. It’s not affecting my life outside of Republicans using it as a wedge issue.
