Gene Hackman sighting

Also, The Conversation.

IIRC on one of the sets of his last films he realized he was kind of being a jerk and decided it was time to retire.
Interesting, in his memoir "Born Standing Up," Steve Martin cited the same dynamic as a reason for previously walking away from comedy for a while.

Re: Hackman roles, I'd have to include among my favorites French Connection, Superman (Otisburg?!), Hoosiers, Bat21, Unforgiven, Crimson Tide, Enemy of the State, The Birdcage, and Royal Tenenbaums.

While I'm not sure how I'd rank them, I do know this. His absolute worst role was Gen. Sosabowski in A Bridge Too Far. It really was a role too far. With bad writing to boot.

For whatever reason I always loved this scene

A lot of great movies but his role in Unforgiven was probably my favorite. Really good.

He's in the Storm Lake High School yearbooks.
Very cool. While I love him in anything and everything, without Gene and Gershwin, there is no United Airlines. From a kid on, Gene made me love O'hare and United. Sure, they both now suck, but dude was amazing...

What a shirty paper. Gene is off limits you assholes.

Who the f cares. I Have like a rotation of maybe 7 shirts that I wear for work. Sometimes I don’t even think I go a week before I wear the same outfit.

Can’t imagine if I live to be 94 that I will give any fvcks about what I’m wearing.

I was watching Young Frankenstein on the treadmill this morning and thought the guy playing the blind man sounded familiar... Gene Hackman. I don't recall ever noticing before that Hackman was in that iconic movie.
