If my GM vehicle costs more than a BMW, is it more luxury? I mean that’s what we are actually doing in this thread is saying hey look at me I have or have had a name brand luxury vehicle.

If I had $500,000,000 I’d be willing to part with 2/100ths of 1 percent of it for a decent ride during the hours and hours one spends in a car.
What are you saving that 2/100ths of 1 percent of the mythical fortune for?
Even extremely conservative earnings on a $500 mil fortune should give you millions to spend each year without touching your capital.
So why stay in a crappy car in that scenario?

Maybe because I don’t spend “hours and hours” in a car? And I wouldn’t classify a Camry as “crappy.”

I’m retired. Why spend $100k on a car that I’m only going to drive to the store or short trips around town? Heck....I rarely even use the air conditioning in the summer....because by the time the car cools down I’ve already reached my destination!
I certainly won’t be going on a long road trip.....I’ll fly first. Or if I ever just want to go for a drive, I’ll take my motorcycle instead.

If I were going to spend big bucks on a car, I’d get a classic from the 30s, 40s, or 50s.

If you want to spend your money on an expensive vehicle.....that’s fine. That works for you. It doesn’t for me. Which is also fine.
