I am going to watch my kids soccer game instead of watching it on TV most likely because I think chances are 80% that the Hawks lose.

Someone give me some optimism please.

I think Iowa is healthy had to many playing at 70%. We just don't have the depth and some key players were not healthy but still better then backups.

biggest reason the Hawks win is because they have to. They have to win this game.

They will win. Every reason in the world points to the Hawkeyes losing Saturday, except for the fact that we tend to do things that should not be done. Somehow, someway, the Hawks will win this stupid game. We will bring the pig back home.

So does Minnesota. Both are 0-1. This is pretty much an elimination game.

wrong. based on where they are in the paradigm of their respective seasons, as well as the state of their programs, a loss by the Hawks is an absolute killer. and it goes way beyond chances of winning a west title.

a loss for Minny surely disappointing, but it's a shake it off and move forward for them. Hawks drop this one and there will be fans heading for the exits.

Wish I could. Not feeling good about it.

Iowa is due to play with some fire ... I think it will come this Saturday. I think King will finally take one to the house. I think we are going to stack the box and force ML to beat us with his arm. I think the coaches will call an aggressive game on both sides of the ball. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I think Iowa finds a way to win this one (it won't be pretty at times, but you have to keep the faith!).

Go Hawks!

Wrong Kyle is wrong...
Yes I am, my bad. Either way it will be very tough to come back from two early losses. Minnys toughest games after Iowa are all on the road vs Maryland, Neb and Wisky. You all know about Iowas schedule. Going into those games with two early losses and coming out on top of the West? Forget about it.

If losing to NDSU and barely beating Rutgers didn't spark a fire, I don't know that losin to NW will do anything for them.
That said, at least my cubbies will be winning in the evening!!

Yep, Hawks will win Saturday. This is what KF does best, right about when people are getting the pitchforks ready, he manages to win a few to fan the fumes for a while.

Take the Hawks on the moneyline folks.

I think some fans are getting beyond the meltdown stage, as expectations for this season have plummeted. If the Hawks lose, I'm sure there will be some melting down from fans who were still hoping for a return trip to Indy, but I think those fans' numbers have dwindled considerably.

Hoping the Hawks get the W, of course, but if not, I think lots of fans will be more acknowledging what they'd expected more than melting down.

I think watching your kids soccer gamers is always the best move, even if the Hawks are doing well. But, yeah, it makes it easier when you know they'll underperform and lose. If a miracle happens, you can always catch the replay on YouTube.

If the Hawks don't show anything and lose then there's a good chance they win only one more game this year (@Purdue).

It's bow season - I will be sitting in a tree enjoying the crisp fall air and the colors of the trees, or laying in a field hunting geese - instead of getting upset at a tv.

Or via WatchESPN if you don't have DVR. I have PS Vue and the DVR is very finnicky when recording college football games, it may have something to do with Vue's relationship with ESPN or something, whatever I guess, not too many highlights this year so far or worth a second watch on DVR.

This can be a season swinging game. Iowa wins this game, and next week at Purdue and they are 3-1 in conference and now have something to play for.

If they lose this one and then we Purdue, they are 2-2 in conference and kind of just hanging around. Nothing really to play for as they will have 2 losses in the West already w/tough crossovers left.

Hawks need this game badly. Hopefully see an energetic team playing w/passion and hopefully see a few "wrinkles" in the gameplan this weekend.

I think this too. I see a win similar to when iowa beat MSU on the road with Vandy at QB and the Hebrew hammer salting away the ugly victory.
Iowa keeps Floyd.

I think the Goofs win this one. Purdue a gimme win, Ilini a hard fought game (if only for the strength of their DL), and a possible win at PSU.

Well they have a DE and their MLB out so there is hope they might be able to move the ball. I don't see any hope they will be able to stop the run. Their best bet is to try and get some TOs.

Not really sure on this one other than it should be high scoring. Minnesota will score a lot of points on Iowa. Their defense however is not very good, possibly worse than Iowa's.

40-35 could very well happen again. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

This is the game that C.J. Beathard finally dominates
this season. He will beat the Gophers with his arm and
feet.. Look for 3 touchdown passes from our leader and
one rushing TD. This is a game where his legend continues.

I hope the team is more into the game then I am. The give a crap meter has gone way down for me the way the Hawks have played the last three weeks. If they can't get worked up and play with high energy and effort I'm not going to over invest in the outcome.

The problem isn't effort. It is that they are bad on the lines. That makes them look like crap and look like a lack of effort but they are just getting their butts beat.
