Going back to school lunch days

Mashed potatoes with hamburger gravy as the main dish. We always had all you can eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. My best memories were in kindergarten when we got an afternoon snack of milk and a cookie

Yep. A carton of milk, pull out your blanket, and get a nice nap in the afternoon. Kindergarten was great, except the bullying on the school bus.

My mother was a lunch lady at my K-8 for 3 or 4 years and she would bake fresh rolls from scratch once or twice per month. Usually served with the ugly-but-delicious chicken noodle slop. Yes, slop.

My high school lunch ladies were the best. They made fresh rolls and biscuits about everyday. We had old people from the community that would come eat on chili/cinnamon roll day and days we had biscuits and gravy.
We always had leftovers/extras we could get and back then 80's/ early 90's with no overweight kids.

I had sex with one of my school lunch ladies. She was working her way through college. I worked at a grocery store after school and weekends. During my senior year, she picked up an evening job in the deli at the same grocery store. Things worked out well 🙂

Oh.....turkey ala king was my favorite lunch. Ham tettrazini a close 2nd.
