Good god cops have a terrible job.

You mean like grand juries, county attorneys, DCI and the suspects 5 lawyers? Trust me they’re plenty of eyes when we have to use deadly force. It’s not as fun as some make it out to be.

I’m sure of the officers did miss more than they hit. That’s normal and the reason why you see cops shooting more than the untrained person thinks is necessary. The officer did the right thing initially. He used deadly force until the threat was stopped. Where he probably errored was when the suspect got up he didn’t continue to shoot until the threat was again eliminated. That is where the seconding guessing things almost cost him.
You may have already answered this on this board, but have you ever been forced to use deadly force? Totally fine if you don't want to answer.

No I haven’t. Been very close when I was fresh out of the academy. I thank god often I never pulled that trigger. My co worker unfortunately did and I wouldn’t wish that stress on anyone. The incident was considered justified, so I can’t even imagine a high profile deadly incident.

We have that now. You know that 20 years ago grand juries and county attorney's didn't review it and the suspect's lawyers didn't have the video and everyone just took the cop's word for it.

Glad we have the video. I just want policies that make sure we ALWAYS get the video. Any cop who "forgot to turn their camera on" right before they shot a suspect to death should be fired and never allowed to work in law enforcement again.

And clips of all police involved shootings should be made immediately available to the suspect or the suspect's family, if not the entire public.

I agree for the record he should have fired again. I'm also glad he waited until the suspect gave him no choice.

Um hate to break it to you but grand juries and county attorneys have always reviewed these cases as long as I can remember. There is nothing new going on besides things being more public with social media. Cameras have been around longer than 20 years. And reference the "forgot to turn on their camera" you have no clue what you are talking about or how LE works. You have human error and technology errors that you can't control. Until you are in the shoes of LE running to a highly tense deadly situation you should probably refrain from making ridiculous comments like that statement.

The suspect's attornies have always had access to the videos. What has changed is the public demands immediate access to camera footage which in my opinion is not good for the case regardless if you are the cop or suspect.

Facts are fun. Good stuff.

I think we can all agree that every cop should wear a body cam all the time. Like Hoosier said, we’ve seen way to much corruption and cover ups of criminal actions by the police.

Lol, k guy. Theres plenty of empirical data to show that corruption is present in the police force.

It's disgusting. But, it takes a little more than viral videos to make the points you're trying to make. Statistics. Studies. Do you have them?
No actually it doesn’t. I just provided evidence that corrupt cops exist. This is just one example. Every cop needs to wear a body cam, because we KNOW that they are willing to cover up murder. And Im done with you and this thread. I’ve made my point.

100% agree. LE like cameras and has saved our ass many of times. My guess is if a cop doesn't like cameras there is a reason for that and that should be looked into. I disagree with if a camera isn't on they need to be fired. I could get into details, but that comment isn't feasible.
