I hate to defend nat here, but this says the intel report is real, not that the bounty story is real. It doesn't mean the intel is correct.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration said on Monday it would not immediately impose additional sanctions on Russia, despite a new law designed to punish Moscow’s alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. election, insisting the measure was already hitting Russian companies.
“Today, we have informed Congress that this legislation and its implementation are deterring Russian defense sales,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement. “Since the enactment of the ... legislation, we estimate that foreign governments have abandoned planned or announced purchases of several billion dollars in Russian defense acquisitions.”
Seeking to press President Donald Trump to clamp down on Russia, the U.S. Congress voted nearly unanimously last year to pass a law setting sweeping new sanctions on Moscow.
Trump, who wanted warmer ties with Moscow and had opposed the legislation as it worked its way through Congress, signed it reluctantly in August, just six months into his presidency.
Under the measure, the administration faced a deadline on Monday to impose sanctions on anyone determined to conduct significant business with Russian defense and intelligence sectors, already sanctioned for their alleged role in the election.
Sanctions. Sanctions don't do shit. Russia has enough resources and leverage throughout the world to circumvent anything the US tries to impose on them. Sanctions apparently do nothing, which is why Russia wanted them lifted, because they did nothing.

1) The only option was to invade or sanctions. Nobody wanted to invade so they made sanctions. Sanctions that were so effective, Putin developed a plan to destabilize NATO and western Democracies.
2) It sent a message, but that was just a small part of the consequences.

4) We will never know the answer to that question because Trump was sure to shut down any investigation into the votes in the election. Given how this administration has handled everything else, it is very likely that something was happening during that time. Trump's initial statements involved 3 million illegals voting. Seeing as what Trump accuses others of doing is seemingly almost always what he is doing himself, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if there were a few thousand votes added to a few specific locations. Again, we'll never know if that's true or not.
Remember that time when an Iranian General killed American soldiers and Trump took him out. Then the left went into full meltdown mode saying Trump was trying to get us in a war. Now supposedly the Russians are involved in trying to kill American soldiers and the left wants Trump to do something about it. How do you guys keep your hypocrisy straight on a day to day or even an hour to hour basis? Does cigarretman or Chishawk sent out daily briefing on what you should be outraged at?

Also we’re all still waiting for confirmation of the imminent threat that precipitated that horrendous stumble by the Trump administration.
