LOL...they can do it knowing that there's no chance the House goes along. Get back to me when they stand up in some actually consequential way. Until then, they are still spineless worms.
Like I said, when it was reported a few days ago that Collins was urging Trump to spend all the funds allocated by Congress, it was a step in the right direction and this is as well. Republicans need to show Trump down and rein him in to stay within the confines of the executive branch. If he continues to abuse his power, impeach him.
The encouraging part is that they'd actually publicly disagree and vote against Trump on something.
I had suspected they were too afraid lest Musk and MAGA try to run them out of office.

It's an empty gesture until the House does the same thing. Of the 3, Paul is the only senator not up for reelection next year so this is posturing as much as anything.
Collins and Tillis know they're going to be top targets for Dems next year.
I fully expect they’re clearing it with the WH to bolster their support at home. Susan Collins isn’t going to get successfully primaried from the right. Neither is Tillis. Both need the political cover back home to hold their seats.
