Trump’s got the farmers. He bought them out with $28 billion for his failed trade policies the first time around. They know he’ll have checks for them this term too. But they do hate socialism. Ask them about student loan forgiveness.
I've spent multiple days with Kim prior to her being in the executive. I still am friends with many who work directly with her. It's safe to say she's very reliant on taking advice of others. I won't go into detail on what I specifically mean, but you're welcome to read between the lines. No worries the esteemed Governor Reynolds has their back.
“The Biden administration consistently ignored the needs of Iowa farmers. They failed to deliver a Farm Bill, refused to expand market access, and turned a balanced ag trade situation into a shocking $50 billion deficit. Instead of standing up to countries like Brazil, Biden chose to reward them - importing more ethanol after they slapped tariffs on ours.
President Trump is using tariffs as leverage - to force our trading partners to the table and put America’s farmers first. My job is to protect Iowans, and I’m working directly with the administration to ease the short-term impact, keep our ag economy strong, and open the door to new export opportunities.”

You know what, never mind. She's operating on faith as well. Best of luck to all of you that work in ag support fields.
The world has an apparently insatiable appetite for corn. It’s displaced a couple million acres of wheat in North Dakota because it’s more profitable to raise.Interestingly 40 years ago farmers were paid to store grain on farm as carryover, and to not plant set aside acres. Today Brazil has taken off and corn is grown in regions of the US varieties didn't exist for 40 years ago.
US Corn production in bushels has essentially doubled in those 40 years.

My wife and my daughter have both interacted with Reynolds over the years. She's been my Governor/LG for 24 years, I get you.
It also doesn’t take more than 5 minutes of research to understand that literally all of the major reforms under her have been policy that has been written, researched and marketed by out of state conservative think tanks.
I view her more like a television anchor. She's saying the words and making a show of the public appearances, buts she's not producing the segments and has no idea how.
My wife and my daughter have both interacted with Reynolds over the years.
They both say that she's incompetent and unable to think for herself.
Red State Governors are also getting talking points from the Republican Governor's Conference.
Perhaps being "chair" only coordinates the message and not really researches the doctrine? It's got to be coming from somewhere else, Kim was chair of that conference at one point.

Kim got elected to county office because she wasn't afraid to knock on doors. She attributed the comments she received about how she campaigned and not what she campaigned on to that 1st elected office. That enthusiasm to act without a well crafted plan or a feel for any side of an issue made her a playdough politician for the right. She's been my Governor/LG for 24 years, I get you.

According to this article china filled their 1st qtr needs of soy completely with Brazil. It will be interesting. About half of u.s. soybeans are exported to China. At 10% I think we’re still cheaper than Brazilian soybeans though.

Once you lose a market, it can be difficult to regain it.According to this article china filled their 1st qtr needs of soy completely with Brazil.
Brazil had a record crop and is now the #1 producer in the world.
Tru dat. And they will NEVER admit that they made a mistake. No larger group in America that will consistently vote against their own best interests than farmers.
Brazil grows way more soybeans than the U.S., but they can’t fill China’s import needs alone. The U.S. can still get soybeans to China pretty cheap, especially from the Western Corn Belt. I don’t know what the magic tariff number is where U.S. beans become too expensive, but we may find out.According to this article china filled their 1st qtr needs of soy completely with Brazil.

Have they shipped most of China orders? The transportation route got pretty snarled with ports and trains loaded for the ocean trip last tariff go around when deliveries were canceled by China. Don't forget to add the 30 cents per bushel now for Chinese manufacturered ships when they load here.Brazil grows way more soybeans than the U.S., but they can’t fill China’s import needs alone. Matt would be David Kruse's son I presume. The interplay between Brazil and the US has become more complex than most realize. Matt is an interesting character. I knew him well once upon a time, and there was a trend for awhile of guys farming in two countries. Matt is the only one I know who still does.
Yes. Matt is probably mid 40s. Married a local to his farm there. Genuinely nice guy.Matt would be David Kruse's son I presume.
I read David's column weekly in Farm News.
He is a common sense old school Republican farm economist. I generally agree with him.
And if her friend, turned judge, hadn't reduced that 2nd DUI to a minor traffic violation...she's ineligible to run for elected office. She's not unlikeable to chat with. Just entered politics on a whim and is cursed/blessed to fail upward.
She didn't take the small town sit at home role most fall into. For that, she has my respect. I don't approve how taken in she can become with a bad idea however. And if her friend, turned judge, hadn't reduced that 2nd DUI to a minor traffic violation...she's ineligible to run for elected office.
Friends in high places!
Okay. I want some Brazilian coffee.
I can’t get any here unless I special order. In the old days, someone was always going to Brazil, so we could get a kilo anytime. It was mostly Santos back then.
LOL - The beef we eat is sourced locally, same with eggs. I can live without avocado's. There is absolutely nothing produced in Brazil that Rico and his family uses.Tried to explain that Brazil was really going to profit from this. It was just going to push them to solidify their alliance with China.
People discount Brazil, hell most Americans don’t even know they speak Portuguese, not Spanish. Most Americans don’t realize that Brazil is larger than the continental United States.
They are already one of the top beef producers in the world.
Trump just handed a lot of our exports over to Brazil on a silver platter.
Rico couldn't handle Rio anyways. Some things just work out for the best.LOL - The beef we eat is sourced locally, same with eggs. I can live without avocado's. There is absolutely nothing produced in Brazil that Rico and his family uses.
Irreparable? Anything can be undone. Even a vasectomy. 😳Article in yesterday's WSJ went on at length how Brazil has been a huge winner in world ag markets since Trump's first trade war in 2018 and now stand even more prepared to add to their growing market share this time around.
Chinese buy soy exclusively from Brazil now and have plunged 700 million in infrastructure in Brazil which has hampered their ag sector forever.
The Chinese market is now gone and ain't coming back.
Irreparable damage to Iowa farmers.
Reap what you sow.

Rico doesn't need to vacay in any 3rd world settings.Rico couldn't handle Rio anyways. Some things just work out for the best.
Rico's got bigger problems...he currently holds DJT stock that he bragged about buying at $69/ share. Planned on selling when it hit $100.Rico couldn't handle Rio anyways. Some things just work out for the best.
LOL - Couldn't be farther from the truth.Rico's got bigger problems...he currently holds DJT stock that he bragged about buying at $69/ share.
Today's closing price...$18.41/ share.
Guess who's not paying capital gains taxes next year?😁😁😁😁
Is that what your wife told you?Irreparable? Anything can be undone. Even a vasectomy. 😳
Well…it is okay to hate liberals. 🥴I respect your response. But the farmers I know are the typical grain farmer in eastern Iowa. They are indoctrinated to do the same things that have always been done. And Trump has given them this weird and horrible ok that hating liberals and black folks is okay.
So, is farm assistance synonymous with student loan forgiveness? 🤔 At least farmers are producing something tangible.Trump’s got the farmers. I come from a small rural community in Iowa too Joel. You missed something important about most Iowa farmersI come from a small town in Iowa and been around farmers most of my life. I think I have learned a couple of things about “farmers” as a group…..1) for the most part, they are pretty good folks who really take pride in the job as providers of food for the world (it’s Godly)……2) they dont like to be talked down to or thought of as dumb farmers (that’s human nature)….3) they know when they make a mistake but don’t wanna talk about it (that’s pure Iowan)….4) they will seldom if ever admit to anyone other than themselves, they made a mistake (that’s MAGA/Trump)…
Why do Iowa farmers (farmers in general) vote Republican/Trump…….there are your reasons “why”!
Rico Suave the real wrestler died two weeks ago so I'm glad there's reception past the pearly gates! Sorry to have missed your Celebration of Life!Rico doesn't need to vacay in any 3rd world settings.
That’s a piss poor attempt at a response. Try to do betterWell…it is okay to hate liberals. 🥴
