Ashnault was the obvious number one seed. Gulibon was the 2 seed. Thorn was the 3 seed, who Gulibon BEAT already head to head. Pletcher was the 5 seed, who Gulibon also BEAT head to head. Carton was the 6 seed, again Gulibon also BEAT him head to head. McCrystal was the 4 seed who did beat Jimmy earlier in the year but then lost some matches. Also Jimmy pretty much was on a nice winning streak before he got jobbed against Heil at Okie State.

So please explain where Gulibon should have been seeded in your honest opinion? Thanks.

Also everyone does realize Jimmy had the worst tourney of his life and was decked 3 times, BUT before that he was on a pretty good streak AND did beat the 3,5, and 6 seed. So I thought his seed was fair.

My, I'm so popular with the pen state crowd. As I read a few of the posts they left for me, I can't help but wonder: Since they just seem to love Iowa Wrestling and the vast majority of our Iowa posters so much, why do they not follow the requests of most of these Iowa forum members and keep a very low profile. And while you are at it, cheer as loud for Hawk wrestlers this year as you did when McD went down his senior year (when anyone with a brain knew he was wrestling with one arm) at NCAAs--talk about a pathetic, non-informed bunch of tw..ts.

As far as the psycho-analysis of pen state posters on this board, let me sum it up:
They are in desperate need of daddy's approval, they have deep, deep-seated feelings of inadequacies on multiple levels and despite recent success realize they will never achieve what daddy did. The fact that daddy doesn't accept them as equals is at once rejected and fought/argued against at every opportunity.

The pen state crowd that posts here on the Iowa forum is, in fact, looking for daddy for a pat on the head. Some oblige from time to time out of pity or kindness, and sadly that keeps them coming back for more.

As for me, I am that guy who from time to time simple reminds junior/the pen state wanna-be's who post here, who they really are (not a pretty history). If that is bullying, then the label fits, and I like it, especially this most instructive case.

How many Iowa fans over there in your griddle about it? WildTurk maybe? Or that Brands is bad for wrestling and/or they have psych issues? One of the guys even went after Gable for being "off" (I guess because he was consumed about winning) and brought his dead sister into it. Because Gulligong was a Top P4P guy out of HS and his regression or lack of development flies in the face of narrative them preach. Reality check: Mitt Sanderson is not nearly as good at developing talent as he is at recruiting it.

Looks like I was right. Guligan got the 4th easiest first round draw for a non-seeded guy, and a guy who is likely injured to boot. Take it any way you want, he got the 13th seeded guy which is as much as you can hope after he was pinned 3 times just a couple day ago. By the way, how was the 2nd seed at Big 10s? That seed was a complete joke and now this joker gets a near best case match-up first round for someone in his position.

Some of the anti-Iowa stuff posted on themat was/is so far beyond the pale, I've more or less given up posting there. Years of repetitive propaganda - Iowa coaches don't teach technique, just pushing, unsportsmanlike conduct, any extracurricular mishap, attempted revising Gable's record, ragging on the town, the academics, etc. Whole threads devoted to bashing Metcalf, Ramos, McD, St John. All with selective video captures, innuendo, just noxious stuff. Worse stuff committed at other programs often gets no mention. And the most toxic stuff comes from a handful of PSU fans.

By comparison, 86 is downright tame.

I don't mind PSU fans posting here as long as it's civil, and many do that - CalNitt and PennSt1985 come to mind, and there are others. It's nice to get some outside perspective.

Guldenboon is so overrated he makes Nate Silver look like a legitimate, political prognosticator. Translation: according to your boy Nate Silver, Cale Sadnstoned has a 99% chance of turning Guldenboon into a NCAA champ next week @141.
