Gottleib has always been an Iowa supporter, he loves Fran M. Fran was an assistant at ND when Gottleib got in trouble. And no he is not a bigger asshat than Coward!
I think Gottlieb primarily covers basketball. And that is what he is referring to in this tweet.
Pretty sure he was talking about basketball and that's a complement to Iowa lol. Kind of a diss to Michigan St. though. They're the number one team in the country and should be considered a great team.
If he's talking about basketball then this would make sense.

If he is talking about hoops, it could be taken as a compliment. I would love it if we finished 4th in the league this year.
It probably was about basketball. He was bashing Iowa football all season so my first reaction (and others) was that he was bashing our football team again. I would be pumped to be top 4 in basketball. This early in the season I have no idea who the fourth best team would be after MSU, Purdue, and Maryland.
I have a very big problem with anyone that considers Michigan very good. So yes - he was talking bball which fits the profile, makes sense, and is a compliment
Yeah, well considering he's not even the greatest of prognosticators in the sport he professionally makes a living off of, I would take everything he says about college football with a f***ing pound of salt..........
As for the 4th best team in the B10 this year, we're certainly in the discussion along with Indiana, maybe Wisconsin because of dirty Bo, maybe Michigan but probably not, maybe Ohio State because they're a living-in-a-cardboard-box-kind-of-poor man's Kentucky, and Minnesota.....but again probably not.
I mean sure we may hurt ourselves with the schedule we have because that's what we do....but there's no reason we can't finish 4th in the conference (or better, tbh)
i would take this tweet as a Hawk fan for basketball (which he was referring to, as I think he cleared it up in a later tweet). He is right, there is MD, MSU and Purdue and then who know what else. If Iowa can maintain what they did against ISU for a full 40 minutes, they will easily be the 4th best team in the conference.
Michigan way over rated. They should of loss to both Indiana and Minnesota. They then got smoked by OSU. Opponents figured out their defense and where putting up big numbers against them.
