Gronowski is on the Iowa Campus right now on a Visit .

If He can lead Iowa to a good Offensive Season in the Shanahan offense He will be a 1st round pick and Him committing will make it much easier to land portal WRs and maybe His WR1 Wilde I would think, Iowa is a QB and real WR threat away from being a real problem on the offensive side.
100 percent, you saw flashes this year and with a full spring of Lester ball and a QB who can move and run RPO, the Iowa offense can certainly wake up!

And a tackle.

Hopefully Lester's impact on David Blough's path to the NFL can be a feather in his cap with Gronowski; that of course combined with his knowledge of the Shanahan system

If Lauck is as good as People are saying and His prospect ranking that Tackle is already on Campus, Would I like to see a proven really good tackle nabbed in the portal, Yea it would not hurt.
will be a redshirt sophomore, woudln't mind to see him bumped inside for his first action, that's a BIG ask for a first year starter at LT, assuming Dunker stays at RT.

I’m not usually a “put all your eggs in one basket” kind of guy, and I’ve posted a few weeks ago that if Sully is QB1, I’m good with it. Sully is fine, but I doubt he would make it through a full season without getting hurt. There’s some pocket presence stuff that is missing, but I digress.

Gronowski changes my tune. Get him. If we can outbid whoever else wants him, do it. He’s an excellent player, and would change our offense instantly.

I don't know anything about the guy other than some gaudy stats, but yeah, I'd be really comfortable with Sully in a QB2 role next year. I think that's where Lester is at as well.

Time for Lester to work his magic and connections, Mark visited Iowa as a HS senior and wasn't offered. He from Chicago-land IIRC which could be to Iowa's advantage. His former OC at SDSU is at NW of course and former coach at Wazzou.

Make it happen!
Went to Naperville. The big issue with NOrthwestern's OC is his old OC from SDSU. If NW can gets funds, they could very well land them both.

Iowa (and specfically KF\TL) needs to guarantee him the #1 spot and money as well as his WR, would love to see Iowa go after Bryce Lance from NDSU as well.

He’s an fcs player, not knocking him but Iowa bombed big time on a big 10 qb in the portal and now this guy is the greatest thing ever? I’ve watched him, he is really good against fcs guys but does it translate? Be cool if it did
In all honesty, show the top FCS transfer that didn't translate recently. Cam Ward, absolute monster, Max Brosmer at Minnesota, Sluka at UNLV (opted out), Jordan McCloud. Texas State.

I’m happy to see us take a shot but just a reminder, he’s played in kinnick once before. 10/26 for 87 yards and 10 carries for -21 yards. Yes, I know this was 2 years ago but just a reminder, his history is against FCS talent.

That 2022 Iowa Defense was really really good and lots of QBs get their hats handed to them in Kinnick, Allen did, Rothlesberger did ect ect ect

the #2 defense in the country? An FCS line in front of two 1st round NFL defensive draft picks in Campbell, Van Ness, late pick in Logan Lee, elite secondary in Moss/Dejean. I would go a step further and say arguably one of the best defenses in Hawkeye football history

You’re right in that you really don't know how a given transfer QB is going to perform and recent history has us all pretty skeptical. That last disaster was perpetrated by Brian, Kirk, and The Gift. There is a new guy doing the evaluations now so there is some hope that that level of miss won't happen going forward. He brought Sully in at the last minute and he's worked out fairly well.

That was against our D,.. when it was very good.
So we can agree that he crapped the bed against a really good defense. He’s still going to have an average OL and a below average receiver group. So he might take us from a 6-7 win team to an 8-9 win team. Still don’t see us beating a Penn St or an Oregon without many other upgrades.

How many QB's had success against Campbell and Company? That was one of Iowa's best defenses in a decade.

Very true. I thought of that as well, but that was one of Iowa's better defenses in the past 10 years and Iowa's offense wasn't doing much so hopefully they were playing conservative.

A couple extra wins is about all you should expect,.. Do you actually think we're a quarterback away from a national championship?,... I certainly don't.

How many teams in the country are going to beat Oregon and PSU… I just want to see this team compete in those big games and not get blown out! Gronk is a stud and would be the best portal get this team has had in a long time! Wash St is the team to beat in my opinion for his services…

It was very good, not denying that but a couple guys when off. He’s for sure an upgrade on what we have but his addition alone will barely move the meter. Casey Thompson 278 and 3 TDs, Stroud 286 and 4 TDs,
