I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I am not that familiar with his Iowa connections. Is the connection simply that he’s from the state or is there a more significant tie?The Seattle Seahawks as their o-coordinator.
From Kingsley, went to BV, and coached at Kingsley for 1 year. I'm not sure how closely he may have followed Iowa growing up but it's not the "born and raised near kinnick stadium" smoking gun that some people want it to be.I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I am not that familiar with his Iowa connections. I ask because I wonder how seriously Grubb would consider taking the head coaching position at Iowa should it open up in the near future (meaning Kirk has decided to retire).
Originally from Kingsley, played football at and graduated from BV, moved back to his hometown after college to farm, was K-P's OC for a couple of years, then took a GA job at SDSU followed by coaching at the University of Sioux Falls with DeBoer then following him around for the last several years for the most part.I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I am not that familiar with his Iowa connections. From everywhere I have seen/read, the entire Grubb to Iowa thing was made up and overblown based on nothing more than his birthplace. Not sure if there's a different source somewhere, but it would be interesting to know.I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I am not that familiar with his Iowa connections. And will never live up to what Saban did pre legal NIL.Maybe Grubb took one sniff of Tuscaloosa and realized what a dump it is. It’s a truck stop, not a college town. No personality or charm.
If you want that, Auburn is actually a decent option.
Was his salary announced? Tia. (I couldn’t find anything)The Seattle Seahawks as their o-coordinator.
Nope, it's just that he's from here from all the information I've seen.I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I am not that familiar with his Iowa connections. Is the connection simply that he’s from the state or is there a more significant tie?

After the AHC stuff, it feels more likely this is Woods' last year with the program, assuming he doesn't find something else before spring.Levar Woods is Iowa's next head coach
Rumored that He was reached out to according to multiple beat reporters, it was turned down fairly quickly. From everywhere I have seen/read, the entire Grubb to Iowa thing was made up and overblown based on nothing more than his birthplace. What, did you think the Transfer Portal applied to just the players?Seems to be the year of short-live coaching stops. O’Brien to tOSU, then quickly to Boston College. Grubb to Bama, then quickly to Seattle. Seems like no hires are for certain.
Interesting times.
He won’t need to go that low. If he really wants a head coaching job, but can’t get one in the P4 quite yet, he’ll go back to being an OC in the P4 until someone hires him as HC in P4.Could be good for him. He might be able to get a head job at the group of 5 level and show he can be a Power 4 head coach.
