GUSTAFSON attending WNBA draft tonight.

2ndround not so good for men in terms of sticking with a team, is it the same for women

I watched tonight and they said this was perhaps the deepest class in WNBA history. Said the league has been looking ahead to this class for four years.

Salaries in the WNBA as of 2018: the maximum salary a player can earn in the league is $115,000.....few earn that and is for veterans with at least six years in the league.

Rookies in the league earn $41,202 (minimum starting salary in the NBA is $560,000) and players with three years experience earn a minimum of $55,000. The average salary of a WNBA player is $79,000.

There's a few names on that list we considered for our daughters.........

She seems like a good college player but not typical pro mold.

She's like a Greg Brunner type. Good fundamentals but lacks size and athleticism the next level likes.

However, the Baylor player selected #7 overall couldn't stop Megan and they had to put another player on her. She's plenty athletic enough. Just another stereotype because she's a white girl who played for Iowa.

I'm still amazed that Logic didn't stick in the WNBA. I thought she had everything a pro guard needed.

I don't know, but women don't leave early like the men, so not so many of them. Except for the few from other countries all were seniors, I presume.

Logic is playing in Slovakia these days.

Ally Disterhoft was smart. Great career at Iowa but did not attempt to play pro basketball instead going to work for Barclays. More money in the long term for sure.

Real money for women made overseas not in the WNBA.

I saw it the same way, FWIW. ^^ Having only seen the big Baylor post in the game v. Iowa, it sure seemed like Megan was outplaying her straight up. The "x" factor to me was the other post, the one that got injured in the championship game. Between the two of them, they could control Megan, but neither one could all by themselves.

For that reason, I was a little surprised to see the Baylor post selected ahead of Megan. But who knows, I don't see enough of the other teams to say for sure. Good luck to Megan at any rate.
