Yes, Vicky Brown just a season ago. And before that, Bond Shymansky for providing rent money to a VB player. And a couple of years before that, Cindy Fredrick following a mid-season VB player revolt.
Also forced out Gayle Blevins from softball, after she refused to fire an assistant who became unpopular with some of the parents.

A better question would be has a University of Iowa President ever fired an AD? Lol
That was Bowlsby. One of his last acts. In a roughly 48-hour period, Iowa State got rid of Bobby Douglas and hired Sanderson; Ohio State got rid of Hellickson and hired Tom Ryan; and Iowa hired Brands.
Also, I assume Barta fired the volleyball coach before Brown (not going to attempt to spell and too indifferent to Google) who had the NCAA violations, unless he just resigned.
Lick was the only one that mattered, although you could argue it was a terrible hire to begin with
Evashevski was fired by the Board of Athletics, presumably with the approval of the president.
Why to begin with? Good winner at Butler. But didn't translate to the BiG. Of course, after he didn't some on here said it was his assistant at Butler that made him win there.
You mean Brad Stevens who took them to the Final Four after Lickliter left?
Yeah, I'd say he was the main reason for Butler's success.
That assistant went to Boston to coach the Celtics if I am not mistaken after taking over for TL, Brad Stevens.
3 ADs going back to the early 70s. Iowa is a stability institution.
He fires people all the time in menial positions. He LOVES micromanaging that stuff. But the spotlight revenue programs he gives complete autonomy and has zero personal oversight. He loves going to the games though.
But did you know that or think that when Lick when first hired by Iowa? That's my question.
I would have hoped that Barta knew Lickliter never did recruiting visits.
That was a big red flag
