How many of you are armed or are considering it?

Don't sleep on a "Beware of Dog" sign in your yard.

I have one.

I don't have a Beware of the Dog sign, but I do have an actual dog...an adult Australian Cattle Dog that weighs 60ish pounds that barks and growls at anything that moves. She's saved us from numerous plastic bags and paper cups blowing around the park across the street.

I have a Husky like that too. She'll notice anything outside that's changed.😅

I consider "being armed" as a weapon(s) on your person or immediate surrounding and not typically referring to loaded gun in your home.

Nothing really had changed for me. I feel no need for a loaded gun in my house.

Carrying a gun on me or my vehicle? Sometimes but I'd rather avoid the places and situations which make me feel a need to "pack". Last 2 weeks would be typical for me and I carried a gun on me or in my vehicle a total of 5 times and that number would be a decrease from times in my past.

I own zero firearms, but have access to a mini arsenal 10 miles away at my Dad’s. The current political climate has not changed my desire to keep my house firearm free.

A couple shotguns, but have been considering getting a handgun lately. Mrs Silberman is pretty anti-gun and even she is coming around to the idea.

I'm a fan of Rock Island Armory. Thinking I'll add a VRBP-100 to the collection. A 12 gauge bullpup semiauto shotgun with a couple 19 round magazines will get me through some bad shit.
I have a Turkish made AR-12 with an 8 round magazine and it is heavy to tote around with 8 rounds I can only imagine what 19 rounds would be like.

I'll pass on that.

Not even a consideration. Don't understand the thought process there.
Too many people have this TV/movie idea about firearms. There's no "warning shot". You don't brandish a gun to scare someone and you sure as hell can't try to just wing them. If you draw a gun on someone it's with the intent to shoot and likely kill them.

Pepper spray or other personal defense items may be more practical and non-lethal. They'll disable somebody long enough for you to escape.

I have an old Redhead over/under 12 gauge sitting in the kitchen closet loaded and ready to go. I bought it off a guy many years ago and IIRC gave him $40 for it and a box of shells. Good enough for me.

I’ve got my old man’s single shot .410 and the Walther that FIL brought back from DubDub2. As you say, good enough for me.

Yep, so many people have no idea how they would react in any "fight or flight" situation. To introduce an lethal element like that just doesn't make sense to me.
