Once again, nobody was going to beat Biden. He was a beloved figure among Dems for his close relationship - both political and personal - with Obama added to the understanding that the nomination would have been his in 2016 but for the death of his son. NOBODY was going to beat Biden in 2020. Period.

The VP and President both resigned in front of him following the 25th amendment. Then he ran in the normal primary process and won in 1974.

You are starting from a false basis. Biden was unfit for a long time before "they got him out of there". Everyone in the administration knew it and so did the media. It only changed after the debate showed that they couldn't hide it any longer.
