Hate Bama but Saban is a good coach

Amazing recruiter--good coach.

This seems to be a common response on this thread. As if a college football coach has two different jobs. Both recruiting and coaching fall under the responsibilities of being a head football coach at the college level. To win you have to be great at both. Love him or hate him, he's won 5 rings.

Great recruiter (with "generous" boosters) and good coach. Anyone can win with those players. Look at his record at Miami (NFL) and Michigan State (34-25 and never won a bowl game). Ever since he's gone south he's been a great coach- LSU and Alabama?! It's a different type of recruiting that happens down there boyz. It's called the SEC- Students Earning Cash. Greatest coach of all time- not even close if you really dig in.

Another poster not familiar with what was going on at MSU when Saban took the job........

No. Period. He's played by different rules than the rest of the nation and in a conference that the NCAA caters too. Screw him. He is not even close to the best college football ever. He's not the best coach in college football right now.

If this thread is still alive I would like to know specifics of his cheatings. I'm not saying he didn't, I'd just like to hear what he did.
