I wouldve thrown a ****ing chair at the refs tonight. This is absurd.

First-year Fran would have been T'd up too.Yeah, I would've been T'd up there and lost the game at that point. That was an embarrassment to the game.
Like it or not Fran tends to not get calls against crew he's had run ins with in the past. This crew in particular.
Why other coaches aren't as affected is beyond me.
Once the game was basically over in 2 OT, I was hoping Fran would earn his 2 tech ride. If only to put more of a spotlight on how Iowa got completely screwed over.If that's the case they shouldn't be officiating anywhere. Do your ****ing job
LOLOLOLOL, until we were cost the win. IObviously the out of bounds but other than that I thought we got a fair shake for being on the road.
You thought we got screwed from tip off I'm sure.LOLOLOLOL, until we were cost the win. I
I know there is no way in hell that the put back at the end of the first half should of counted. You thought we got screwed from tip off I'm sure.

Not to mention the final carry by Mason and the blatant travel by Coffey not called. The final 8 minutes of the game Minnesota was able to go out of control full speed into the lane running people over and getting foul calls. There was one late in the shot clock on Pemsl where Springs slipped and fell and they blew whistle. There were bad calls on their end too, block on Jok comes to mind but late game calls cost Iowa that game. I get the, "he shoulda called TO right away" but that's part of being a young team.
maybe the 18 turn overs hurt too?LOLOLOLOL, until we were cost the win. I

Fran did a good job of keeping his cool... dude has the shortest leash in the nation and its bullshit
maybe because you would have to prove that was true? Why officials are allowed to call a game accordingly based on a personal agenda, with no repercussions, is beyond me as well.
inconclusive , since it was ruled a basket it has to be counted.I know there is no way in hell that the put back at the end of the first half should of counted.
Four total points gifted at the end of halves, on the road.
3 Officials, Multiple Players in the middle of the court calling Timeout plus Ellingson, a player standing with a foot well out of bounds and not one of the Three Blind Mice see anything? BIG Office needs to drop the hammer on this Crew. There are missed calls in every game. There are bad calls in every game. However, the missed TO/guy standing out of bounds was an egregious error. These calls should never happen. A missed travel, incorrect block/charge, phantom contact I can live with. Those calls go both ways. A team up 2 with the ball and 20 seconds left wins 9 out 10 times. The refs stole that from Iowa and gave UM another chance they didn't deserve.
I don't think he should have called timeout. He should have protected the ball and kept pivoting like a madman to collect the foul. He was too passive standing there. He is 18/18 at the FT line. Possibility of a TO on an inbound pass. Keep the ball live. Not to mention the final carry by Mason and the blatant travel by Coffey not called. This is true IMO as well. It was quite obvious down the stretch which team was supposed to win.The World of College Basketball Sports Entertainment. The refs did exactly what they were paid to do.

If you don't think Iowa got jobbed last night then I can't help you.I'm really curious how this works. For example, who decided Minnesota was supposed to win? Is there one guy, or a committee? And why Minny? Then, how do they contact the officials to provide instructions and arrange payment? PayPal? Or, perhaps a paper bag at the airport?
Do all the refs get the same pay or do the crew chiefs determine the split? What if Iowa were to overcome the plot and still win? Do they still get paid in that event? Or, only if they are successful?
It must be really clever, because no one as ever blown the whistle or been caught. That kind of effectiveness is impressive. I would like to know more.

I hope that was sarcasm.
That jump ball with 20 seconds left f**ked us. 1)It wasn't long enough for a tie up, 2)everyone in an ia uni +every coach was calling for a timeout +3) the mn kid was oo bounds! 4)refs are conditioned to look for a to in those situations so the bs about the crowd noise is just that...bs.
That one probably f**ked iu out of the tournament. We would have 50/50 been in 4th place after Saturday. That's one I have a hard time coming back from. Cant imagine the team.....
I wish it were sarcasm but I think money has become the ultimate motivation in college basketball and they have to make sure to get as many teams into the NCAA tournament as possible.
I asked how it worked. I said nothing about the quality of the officiating. If you don't know how it works then you are correct - you can't help me.
It starts at the top of the conference. Facts we do know:
The guy in charge of the leagues biggest concern is making money for the league. If you don't believe that than why is guy #2 the dude who is in charge of scheduling and television games?
The guy in charge of officials also runs a referee camp (pay to attend) where if you want to be a Big Ten official you'd better attend, probably several times. It is in conjunction with two other leagues now, but the point is by the time you're a Big Ten ref you've been trained by the likes of Ted Valentine and other currents officials. They report to their boss, at the camp. Their boss MAY hire some of these guys.
You think the fix isn't in?
You think it is all about bag money? Crap no it's institutionalized!
I'm not close to the only guy who says so. Pat Chambers blew $10,000 of his own bucks saying the exact same thing. The teams most likely to be cash earners get a break.
It's beyond obvious. And it isn't even rare anymore! Seeing the final product should be believing, but then there are people that think Pro Wrestling is real.
And you wonder why they don't get caught? They do! All the time. There is just nothing anyone can do about it as long as the College Basketball world keeps making big bucks.
Example of someone getting caught?
So, it is clear to you that the Commissioner of the B1G talks to the officials about which team should win? Or, do you mean the refs figured out all by themselves that Minnesota should win? So, they commit a crime to keep this part time job with no other financial incentive?
Obviously, it's all about the money. Show me the money that the refs get for calling a game a certain way.
If you really believe that the fix is in, why are earth do you follow college basketball? Are you a fan of Pro Wrestling?
I'm guessing that it's you, Pat Chambers and another million or so people that think the fix is in, which makes it even harder to believe that no one has ever proven it.
