There's a difference between going to bat for the coach and calling out the fan base.

For example, it was widely regarded that Lickliter wasn't doing a good enough job. And a new coach was pretty much universally desired. And I wouldn't argue against that.

But that doesn't change the fact that fan behavior during that time was completely wrong.

And the only reason I have to consistently go to bat for KF, is because there are so many idiots on this board that do things like calling him a "terrible coach"

I wouldn't go as far as saying he is a terrible coach.
He's set in his ways and reluctant to change. His coaching style went out with compact disks and DVD's. He refuses to adapt.
That's a problem. You can remain committed to your culture and values and still reinvent yourself with new and advancing ideas.
He just refuses to do so.
That's neglect IMO. And it's setting the team back.
Fran? He is just bad at his job period.
It's time for change on both fronts.

Doesn't matter if it were 100% justified for Fran to get fired. There's a well-paid AD that's capable of making that decision. And if it were to take Iowa getting curb-stomped the rest of the season (which won't happen), then maybe it's not all that clear cut of a decision at this point.

These players deserve your support and deserve every bit of success they can get.

This isn't pro sports. Tank jobs are never a good idea in college, and it's hard not to vomit at the idea of tanking in pro sports.
