I’ve always thought that was a useless endeavor. What’s the point. Besides both have their detractors. It would have been awesome to beat UM, but then we’d have lost to Iowa St…,.
Quite frankly, 7-5/8-4 teams who beat top 5 teams are anomalies. They are not higher thought of than 10 win teams who beat who they were supposed too, even if the losses were lopsided.
You guys are being disingenuous, you want to win 10 games and win the big games….
And you don’t even weigh out the big games the same… There are a lot of you on this board that wouldn’t consider a win verse 13 - 1 & top five Iowa State a better victory than a 10 - 3 and top 12 Michigan….

Knowing that somehow despite the atrocious offensive effort in last years Minn game and getting one of the worst calls in CFB negating DeJean’s return TD. Iowa was still in the game at the end, needing basically 2 maybe 3 first downs to set up a game winning FG. Only to throw it away.

relatively speaking, did you go to games back in the 70’s? those games were FAR less entertaining than what is occurring now. little or no offense when you still have a chance to win is relatively more entertaining than no offense when you are losing by 4-6 touchdowns.

A poor offense coupled with a potential top 5 defense and good special teams could put the Hawks into the 12 team playoff picture. IMO that's an exciting and not totally unrealistic possibility.
With this offense and the personnel and KF at the helm, that's very unlikely. Even if it did happen, you'll just end up with a first game blowout as has been KF's MO of late vs. teams with a pulse.
I'm excited for this season. We finally have a real OC with QB experience. Hopefully our offense will finally carry their load and win games instead of 3 and outs,punting and defense to win games.

If you can’t figure out that winning 10 games in several seasons recently isn’t something to be excited about then maybe you need your assistant manager to explain it to you.
I'm excited about this season, but I'm exicted about every season. The defense will once again be elite. That's a given. The offense can't possibly be worse than it was last year. Any improvement at all will reap rewards. The special teams obviously won't be at last season's levels. At the end of the day, I think this is a team that can go 8-4.
