Why did Downey have to go the grad transfer route? I thought non FB or Basketball transfers were eligible immediately (unless the former school did not release). Or is there something else involved?

I believe he had to go this route because Iowa will be his third D1 school and there are rules against that

I believe he had to graduate to be eligible right away(2nd semester).

PD3 isn't allowed to practice with the team until he is a member of the team. How PD3 stacks up against Brooks and Burak would be interesting.

I guess I didn't realize he hasn't been able to practice with the team. Interesting dynamics.
