With the B1G schedule being released, we know what the Hawkeyes will be facing in the conference. How will we do?

I went with what I consider the high side...what the heck, I put it at #3 with 22-25 wins and top 5 B10. I could have gone with number 4 but think there should be a 20-23 category and still in the top 5/ of the B10.

I went with #3 as well. Barring significant injuries, I think we will get 11 in the pre-season and 11+ in conference.

It is still too early for my official guess. But as things stand now I feel quite comfortable hoping for about 24 wins and a top three finish in the Big Ten.

One thing I would love to see is that Michigan State game to be late in the season. If everything goes great, it would be fun to have a showdown in Carver.

I tend to be on the conservative side with my predictions. 20-21 wins and #7 in the league is the baseline. I wouldn't be surprised to see them do 2-3 games better than that.

No. 3 is the best answer but my heart wants to go with No. 2 if JoBo doesn't get hurt!!!

I am usually pretty conservative in my predictions, but the schedule and the fact that we get the bonus practice time of a overseas trip have increased my expectations. If the Hawks stay relatively healthy, especially JBo, I think there is a pretty decent shot at 25+ wins. Extra practice should help us overcome our youth in the pre-B1G schedule.

I think the Big 10 will be tough and finishing bottom half isn't out of the question.

MSU, Purdue and Michigan will be tough.

Minnesota with their young talent could easily jump into the top tier.

Maryland and Wisconsin lost some talent but they always put together decent teams.

Since the poll allows for multiple votes you can ensure that you are right.....

Just voted #4. Iowa finishing anywhere from 5 to 9 should surprise no one though. I never once said Iowa would finish in the bottom 4 in the league. Ever. If that happens, barring major injuries, Mccaffrey's seat should be very, very hot.

All I've ever maintained is that Dan's prediction of no lower than a third place finish for the next three years is stupid. Which it most certainly is. Not surprising, mind you, just stupid.

My statement was I believe Iowa will win 40+ games in the Big Ten in the next three years. If you insist on insulting me, get the damn statement right you ignorant, Illini dolt.

Hahaha

You've already predicted no less than a third place finish for this coming season.

So... Dazzle me wif yo maff sklz, Danny.

I picked #5 to be a Debbie Downer. The "pessimist" scenario works like this: Offensively we are decent but this young team fails to gel defensively, and the overloaded lineup leads to chemistry problems, and we can't seem to find "the guy" to close out games like Jok / Uthoff. Point guard play is spotty, Brady turns gunshy, Baer can't seem to find the range from 3, Moss is inconsistent, Williams and Uhl are zeroes, JBo tries to play heroball and shoots us out of games, opponents sag the middle and our bigs lose touch from the FT line. We lose 4 headscratcher games in non-conference (somehow, Iowa goes 0-2 vs Wyoming in both FB and BB), and leave the Cayman Islands 1-2. We get buried at VT and lose in OT vs Colorado. Conference play is no better - we suffer one of the patented Fran mid-February swoons and lose 5 straight, and drop 4 more plus lose first round BTT. End result: 18-14, NIT.

Yikes. A very bleak scenario, Jerry.

Yikes!

My tendency is to be cautious, but I think it would take a serious combination of bad breaks for it to play out as described.
