Hawkeyes complete 2020 schedule by adding UNI

What it boils down to in my opinion is that Iowa has people in power who have no interest in a national championship or being a perennial top 10 team. It annoys the sh#% out of me. I am not saying play 4 top ten teams for the non-conference schedule (just no FCS teams for crying out loud).......however, if anyone noticed, Wisconsin started playing at least 1 big time game for their non-conference schedule......#5 LSU last year, Alabama in 2015, LSU the year before.......That is a program that has an interest in being a top 10 contender EVERY year. Iowa? Doesn't seem to be much interest from the powers that be........Sad for the fans to be honest. The program could be so much more and so much more consistent. :(

Even though Nebraska sucks, and always will with out current HC, some future home and homes are Colorado, Oklahoma, Colorado again, and Cincy

Oh! LOL You're going to go back to 1892 for one stat (4.1) where many seasons were 8 games or less; and another stat only back to 2007? Ok LOL!

Uh, yes. When I make a statement that includes the word "historically" it means all time. So yes, it would mean to go back to 1892.
Also when I said UNI has beaten ISU on a regular basis, it would imply recently.

Why is this so hard for you?

If you have to have every little detail explained to you, I'd stop posting here. I suggest Cyclone Fanatic.

I wouldn't mind playing ISU every other year or so if they weren't a perennial joke. I doubt they will ever really be legit though. UNI should not be on the schedule at all.

Wisconsin future schedules:
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/big-ten/wisconsin-badgers.php

About the only remarkable thing is their 2020/2021 ND series while also having a Syracuse HaH the same years. The other years, their schedules are no better than Iowa. At least Iowa has a P5 every single year, Wisky has none for 2017, 2018, 2019. USF as their big game in 2019.

You're a pretty reasonable poster, but if you describe Wisconsin's non-conference lineup between now and 2030 as "no better than Iowa," you and I are going to have to agree to majorly disagree.

MeetTheFerentz,

Other than the 2020/2021 ND series with Syracuse HaH in the same year, how is the Wisky schedule any tougher than Iowa?

Next year they play WKU, New Mexico, and BYU. 2019, USF, Central Michigan, Kent State.

They play the same formula as Iowa: P5, and two buy games that are typically MAC/MWC/Sunbelt.

I guess if P5 is P5 and that's that, they would be equivalent. But since just about everyone I know would consider Alabama, LSU (recent years), ND, Washington St,. Va Tech and UCLA > > > > > > Iowa St, that's where I make the distinction.

I was talking about future schedules. WSU has historically been garbage just as bad as ISU. They appear to be on the rise, but so does ISU.

There is not a huge scheduling difference when one team is playing P5/buy/buy and another is playing P5/buy/buy. A small difference, yes, but it doesn't appreciably change a team's strength of schedule much.

BYU was really good when they scheduled it and USF is undefeated this year and #18... aka they have a pulse

Try again

So, Wisky receives credit for scheduling a good team that is bad when they actually play, but also receive credit for scheduling a bad team that might be good when they play.

That is par for the course with your logic.

When u schedule a team for the future that's been good for a while, u assume they'll be good when u play them. If they aren't, u shouldn't be punished for it

Of course the quality of the opponent should be reflected. Computer rankings consider it, poll voters consider it, ticket buyers consider it, TV executives consider it.

We shouldn't be slapping Wisky on the back for playing the 119th best team in the country, while acting like our win over #38 is meaningless.

From this season:

Indiana vs Virginia

Maryland vs Texas

Michigan - Fla & Cincinatti

Michigan State - Notre Dame

Minnesota - Oregon State

Nebraska - Oregon

Ohio State - Oklahoma

Penn State - Pitt

Rutgers - Washington

Iowa vs Cysucks

Spoon-Fork-Watermelon<------- In sesame street parlance, which of these things is not like the other?
