Minor League baseball is now underway and there are 12 former Hawkeyes/Hawkeye recruits playing this year.

Eric Toole - Boise A (Colorado)
Justin Toole - Akron AA (Cleveland)
Derrick Loveless - Dunedin A (Toronto)
Kendall Coleman - Charleston A (NY Yankees)
Jake Yacinich - Burlington A (LA Angels)
Nick Hibbing - West Virginia A (Pittsburgh)
Chris Comito - AZL White Sox R (White Sox)
Blake Hickman - AZL White Sox R (White Sox)
Ryan Borucki - Dunedin A (Toronto)
Matt Dermody - Dunedin A (Toronto)
Sasha Kuebel - Peoria A (St. Louis)

All of the pitchers have career ERAs under 4.00.

I don't believe Hickman will throw this year and Yacinich underwent another shoulder surgery -- it didn't heal properly the first time.

Oh, and Hibbing is no longer in baseball. He hung it up over the winter.

What made Hibbing decide to call it quits?

The way he pitched vs Oregon and vs Missouri State during that final day of regionals last season was absolutely amazing.

Kris Goodman Greensboro-A (Marlins) hitting .148
Eric Toole Boise-A (Rockies)
Justin Toole Akron-AA (Indians) injured hasn't played yet
Derrick Loveless New Hampshire-AA (Blue Jays) was hitting .243 at Dunedin, just got called up to AA and is 1 for 3 with a home run.
Jake Yacinich Burlington-A (Angels) still injured
Kendall Coleman Charleston-A (Yankees) .215 has had some really good games, but then his offense will disappear for awhile.
Chris Comito Kannapolis-A (White Sox) 0-2 9.39 in 2 starts
Blake Hickman AZL White Sox-R heard that he might get a chance to pitch this year.
Ryan Borucki Lansing-A (Blue Jays) had 6 starts at Dunedin, he went 1-4 with a 14.40 ERA.
Matt Dermody Dunedin-A (Blue Jays) 1-1 2.40 15 IP 18 K and only 1 BB, also has a couple saves.
Sasha Kuebel was released on May 2nd after 7 appearances and a 3.97 ERA. Had a 3.35 ERA for his minor league career.

I wonder why Kuebel was released? It's not like his stat line with Peoria was terrible.

Yeah, I couldn't understand that either. Looks like he signed with an independent team, also saw Joel Hutter's name, he's from Bettendorf.
