Hawkeyes in Pro Baseball 2023

Unfortunately, no former Hawks made the big league clubs this year. Mason McCoy was really close. Robert Neustrom, C.J. Eldred and Brady Schanuel were all released. I do feel like Neustrom will sign with another team though.

McCoy was 3 for 5 tonight with a couple RBIs! Nice start to the season

McCoy 3 for 6 in the second game with a double and RBI, 6 hits so far in two games!

Another 2 hit game for McCoy, he's 8 for 15 (.533) to start the season with 4 runs, 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and a steal.

Peyton Williams and Mason McCoy both had big days, too!

McCoy was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.
Williams played a double header was 4 for 4 3 runs, a double, 2 homers, 6 RBI and 4 walks.

Peyton Williams had a rough start to the season, his first 15 games he was 6 for 52 .115, but he currently has a 10 game hitting streak where he's 18 for 38 .474 with 4 doubles, 2 homers and 17 RBI! He's raised his average to .254 for the year.

Nick Allgeyer got traded to the Astros, he's with their AAA team Sugar Land. Borucki has signed with the Pirates and is playing for AAA Indianapolis.

Peyton Williams continues to rake! 3 for 4 tonight with a double and home run, 3 RBI. BA is up to .280 now!

A couple nice starts from former Hawkeye pitchers tonight. Trenton Wallace pitched 4.1 scoreless innings with 6 K's and a couple hits, walked 4. Season ERA is at 1.53. Adam Mazur pitched 6 scoreless with 6 K's and 3 hits 1.77 season ERA.

Fort Wayne is a High-A Midwest League affiliate of the San Diego Padres.

No walks, no runs and 3 strike outs in 6 IP. Pretty impressive.

Mazur and Trenton Wallace must start on the same nights, Wallace pitched 6 scoreless tonight, too. He's now 5-2 with a 1.79 ERA. His new teammate, Peyton Williams hit a solo shot tonight, his first A+ hit. Ben Beutel is now at Kannapolis in A ball and has had a nice start so far.
