Really sloppy all around, tough to get a feel for how we are going to be. If we play like that we'll probably win 10 games.

Second half looked much better, it was just an exhibition game. Have a feeling they will look much better next game. Jok, mg and Bair looked the best. As far as Woody, more of the same sadly. Guy is just plain terrible at finishing around the hoop, against way smaller guys nonetheless.

Yea Woody looked terrible. He should be able to completely dominate a team like that, makes no sense whatever.

I think the Hawks will be a solid team. This was a scrimmage in November, hardly a finished product. Relax

Yep, they're gonna be fine. Nobody thought the fb team was gonna be any good after the spring scrimmage either. It's gonna be a good bb season too bank it.

It's an exhibition folks... There's a general rule that you don't take away too much good or bad from these things.

This can't be serious.

Actually it was a scrimmage in October! Early basketball is always sloppy. The upperclassmen are fine. The youngsters will emerge. Might see more wrath this year from Fran. Again these guys are too quiet.

Iowa state fans running over here after our first exhibition game. Gonna be long season on these boards.

Because I said they should have won by more I am automatically an Iowa State fan? It doesn't mean they won't get better but that was a bad performance I don't think anyone thinks otherwise.

As I mentioned in another thread, I went to a Kansas exhibition against a D2 school a few years ago. At one point late in the second half, KU was only up like 5 and ended up winning by 10. And they didn't play their bench much at all. And just a couple years ago, Syracuse lost an exhibition to a D2 school. These things happen. 10 wins? Wtf?

Yes OP, it is time to write off the entire season based on exhibition games.

It is possible this group might struggle some depending on how the depth after the top 6 returning players develop. I am looking forward to seeing how this team takes shape over the season.

I think 20 wins will be a challenge. Finishing in the top half of the B1G is not a given.
They are not a lock for the NCAA tourney.
But saying 10 wins total after 1 exhibition game is just silly.

Yep, and that Kansas team that won the big 12 with NBA players on their team.

It wasn't that long ago that many predicted doom for the football team because the offense couldn't score after a couple inter squad scrimmages. Last I checked we are 7-0. Give it some time...it's their first scrimmage!

what is your assessment based on?

anyone (other than Fran) who has an assessment of a team from an exhibition game played in October...clearly has an agenda other than what it is...

which is a team with a lot newbies in the 2nd group..had this been a game of importance...the 1st group would have played more minutes and you would of had a much larger point difference.

..Uthoff gave the SF team credit for playing hard...Fran got what he wanted...video and more practice...the 2nd group (whoever they are) will improve ... bank on it.

Iowa played how many guys? come on...you really think calling an exhibition game played in October a bad performance??? really....

But not nearly as bad a performance as the Cyclones gave to coach Hoyburger in his last game he coached for the school.

Exhibition or not, i think it showed that interior defense could be a concern. Teams with decent bigs could be problematic. Of the new guys, I thought Fleming looked pretty good and could see him fitting in to the rotation. Fran's has his work cut out for him, trying to see who fits where.

We had a ton of difficulty defending the dribble drive without fouling last night. We'll be ok.

I don't disagree with the bolder part, but remember we didn't play any zone last night, so it won't always look like that

You'd be surprised how many people think otherwise...and are not wrong in doing so. Cool story, huh.

But yeah, this is a below-.500 team. I can tell by watching an exhibition game..........And yes, we don't have to voice our concerns about this team ending up a below-.500 team because of how bad they looked in an exhibition game, but if we don't voice our concerns now..........it may end up being too late.

Because I give a f***, David.......I give a f***.

Yep.
