Heated at rhe end of the game?!

why was the official escorting Conor back to the bench? Because he was instigating. He kept talking and Looking back at Illinois players while doing so. Off camera he said more. That’s what Illinois coach was saying was bullshit
to protect him .

The Ref's failed to control the last 4 seconds
of the game. This led to needless hacking
of Connor by Illinois

The Illinois Assistant Coach failed to control
his mouth toward Fran during the handshake
walk. So Fran pulled his players from the floor.

End of Story where Hawkeyes win by 7 points.
how can he call a foul until it happens ? there is a whole lot of stupid in your post .

Class???? Is that why in the last 10 seconds when the game was over and Illinois was NOT going to foul and Iowa throws a deep pass....rather than dribbling out the clock your class player dunks it!!! Garza...very good player but after you make the 3 to ice the game DON"T puff out your jersey at the Illinois bench!!! Act like you've been there before!!!

Should be a fun game in Champaign!!! Go Illini!!
they were pressing us , did you even watch the game ?

even if the ref calls a foul everything still happens like it did . they punch at the ball and connor will still do the little forearm shiver and the coach will still be upset . illinois wants to be upset about the dunk then they shouldnt have been pressing , same way at the end , they were still pressing with 4 seconds left .

Right. Just quit doing your job when you deem the game to be over. The refs didn’t care if Illinois (and Iowa) we’re still playing the game. They decided the game was over. Read Connor’s comment about Eades. He said it was escalated when they should have called the hack on Frederick. Then continued to hack him. He said to Eades as he was escorted off the floor that it was his fault for quitting officiating. I agree with him.

Agreed that it was fairly obvious the refs quit at the end. They wanted nothing more than this game to end. You watch CJ get grabbed and held (terrible camera angle too). Then he receives a hack before passing off to CM who was hacked at least twice. Once the game ended, Mike Eades wants to spring into action and separate two players who were already separated, walking to their benches. Good bit of officiating there Eades.

By reading papa’s response to you he acts like there ‘nothing to see here’ until the clock hit zero. That couldn’t be further from the actual truth where Illinois began fouling before the ball was in bounded. The refs chose not to see it is all.

Like I said 2 good teams but 2 plays in my opinion didn't need to happen!!! Especially the Garza puff out your jersey at the bench!! The dunk at the end does bother me too, but it was a fun game to watch. I'm sure Iowa fans hate us as much as we hate you!!
Seriously, this coming from a fan of a team whose player steps on the chest of a player laying on the ground, and on purpose. Really???

Papa defends refs to a point where it is just plain stupid.

Don’t forget earlier this season when Cofi celebrated his basket so much he knocked a ref unconscious!

The Illinois butthurt over Weezy’s dunk reminds me of a Whitey Hertzog quote after an opponent complained about Vince Coleman stealing a base late in game up 8 runs. Whitey “If he wants us to stop running have the manager pass over us a note that they promise to not score any more runs”. Illinois had shown no signs they raised the white flag up to Weezy’s dunk.

not at all . calling the foul changes nothing . yes he could have called it but everything still will happen as it did . they slap at the ball , eades decides to call a foul and connor will still do the little foreman shiver ( i hate to call it an elbow , it really was not ) until we know what the coaches from ill . were upset about , either connors attitude or the pass to weezy for dunk all we have is a whole lot of speculation .

I agree completely, if they call the tackle that occurred on CJ then Connor still gets the ball after the whistle blows and the Illinois player several seconds after the whistle blows still punches at the ball and while the players start to walk down the court for the free throws Connor throws a forearm shiver because now 10 seconds after the first foul is called the Illinois player is still punching at the ball. The officials quit, it’s pretty straight forward.

lol

No, it was Connor. Like always
connor
Illinois gaurs took a swipe at the ball woth Connor holding it. Some words exchanged just like with lames. Connor did a little talking as he was walking away. Illinois assistant said it was ducking bullshit. Fran fires back. Assistant didn’t back down. Fran took the ball and went home.

Fran and Connor. Apple didn’t fall far at all.
you are a idiot

Pretty easy to see when you put it like that. @papabeef you’re right. If the refs did their job, it all plays out the same way. To quote the great papabeef “lol”.

Very well thought out response. Surprised you didn’t throw a name call in there. When you actually read what you expect us to believe to support the ‘officials did a good job’ it is a lol premise

Nah, that’s a pretty standard response from him when he knows he’s beat and can’t do any better.

your welcome buckwheat , lol . never said they did a good job or a bad job .

There is the expected name call. Still sticking with the 'if they call the foul in the first place it still plays out the same'?
YES , if they call the foul on connor the only thing that changes is he shoots freethrows , he would still have done the little foreman shiver and everyone on the ill side would still be pissy . tell me in your opinion what changes ?

Yep. Once he’s beaten, papa pulls out the name calling.

It is ridiculous to say the game still would have ended the same way if the ref had called a foul like he should. There is no way to know.

if there is no way of knowing why is it ridiculous ? lol

if calling someone buckwheat constitutes name calling you all are a bunch of pussies . lol

Or possibly more advanced and not needing to resort to that. Could be either. I do know that if Eades had blown the whistle and made the correct call you wouldn’t have had to resort to this tactic.

Lol.... the foul on Connor was at least the 2nd missed call of that sequence. Watch it again, the first missed call was even worse. The officials gave up and they caused the issue. If the B1G had thought the officials had done no wrong then I think Connor would have gotten a public reprimand for the conference for calling an official out by name. My guess is there was something said behind the scenes about it. A ‘bad situation but you can’t say that to the press’

my guess is the B10 would not make it public , if at all , not their style .
