After a little research...
No college fields are heated, and only a couple of NFL fields are.
My guess would be that it's a pretty large expense for something that would only be used for one or two games.

The goofs field is now heated I believe with the Vikings using the stadium last year and this year. In 2010, they let snow sit on the field all week. The snow melting at the bottom froze onto the turf so when they finally removed the snow, there was a sheet of ice. Their solution? Get a bunch of idiots to use hammers on the turf.

The field was an absolute travesty, but unfortunately can't blame the Iowa loss on it.

With the snow coming today to Iowa city, I don't see the ice issue happening to the turf tomorrow.
 
I heard the replacement field was going to be all Gold. Since everyone outside of Iowa already hates us the administration just figured they would follow suit with Boise State and just let people keep hating.
