#1 ranked 106. Future 125 for them. This "COULD" mean they are out of the Sasso sweepstakes. Might be down to Iowa and Nebraska now.

Looks a little old to me...

Pretty sure a Jr. he has some growing to do. Maybe they are tired of having guys grow out of the spot and are hedging for a lifetime 125. ;)
Wonder with him being a junior 106 pounder if he's going to get money at all? Also Jacob dacatur who is a sophomore will probably be a career 25 but I doubt he will be getting much money either

You're right I forgot his freshman year he dnp but wrestled 106 and was lucky if he weighed 90
Sorry about that

Sorta interesting with Dylan and Brady Koontz, both State Champions as Juniors at 106 and 113 in Wisconsin last year committed in this years class for tOSU. Both Koontz brothers moved up a weight class and failed to repeat as State Champions. Brady took 2nd at 113 and Dylan took 3rd at 120.

They also have Sophomore, Jacob Decatur committed in the 2019 class. His Twin Jordan was the much higher thought of as a prospect after the upset of Teasdale, in Flo's "Who's Number One" event this preseason. However, Jacob is now ranked 8th in the country at 106 and Jordan is 11th at 126.

I personally do not believe Jose Rodriguez will be able to make 125 next year. That would leave them with only the Koontz brothers as 125 options next year as True Freshmen. That would not go well. I firmly believe that those guys are going to need to redshirt to add the necessary strength to wrestle in DI and especially in the Big Ten.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Nick Roberts, RIP, would have stayed at Ohio State. Completely a hypothetical here, but could have filled their hole at 125 this year.

Heinselman certainly has the tools to have success at the next level. His national accolades prove as much. His size is obviously a bit of concern, and being an 18 year old high school junior wrestling 106 pounds you have to wonder just how much he will grow. He is an extremely hard worker and benefits from having 2 high school coaches at Castle View who are former Olympians - Ike Anderson and Kevin Bracken.

Excellent information. Being an 18 year old Junior at 106 would seem to be a huge advantage. Sure he is ranked #1 in his weight class, but lets be honest here, we don't see very many 18 year old high school boys still at 106. Even with his Senior year remaining and a potential redshirt year, it is very difficult to ever imagine him being strong enough to be competitive with a guy like Spencer Lee. I just watched a couple of his matches for the first time ever and he clearly is skilled. You don't win three straight National Freestyle Championships in Fargo and not have skills, but he is going to to need to hit the weight room hard if he ever hopes to be competitive with the elite 125's in the country.

I always find myself rooting for undersized competitors. The age of Super Heavyweights was before my time, but whenever I find an old match online with a 350+ heavyweight verses a guy in the 200's I can not help but root for the undersized guy. It doesn't matter what singlets they are wearing. Heck, I might even root for a PSU light heavyweight in that situation. He obviously won't be that undersized, but you get my point.
