Heller shaking up rotation for MSU series

In other B1G action, IU is thumping Purdue again. Michigan has early lead on Northwestern.

Huge RBI for Peterson to put Iowa up 1.
Who is going to come in for the 9th? Llewellyn? Stay with Christopherson?

The game was tied at 5 in the bottom of the 8th with 2 OUTS.

The Hawks then score 3.

Brennan Dorighi with the HUGE 2 run BOMB.

A. Then force Penn State to reschedule it.

B. I'd say the Sunday loss to Ohio State hurt more...........

A) you can’t

But from the Maryland/Indiana perspective it doesn’t really matter. They have the tiebreaker on us anyway so they’d be the better seed with a tie. And we’d win the regular season outright with a 1/2 game lead if we won out and they drop 2. So it’s all profit for us.

B) I agree, OSU was very sweepable there and we just couldn’t get a rally going. That was an easier game than playing another in State College

Get the sweep over Sparty tomorrow and then the standings become much more interesting.

A. I can and I will. They'll play us again, and lose, and they're gonna like it!

if Iowa wins the next 4 don't really care what happens to Indiana as the winner of the BTT gets the auto bid. then its up to the players to win.

no it might appear like I was talking about the BTT, not sure how to make it any more clearer that it was a difference between the last 4 games of the BT season. then the BTT.
Ok, I read it wrong. Thanks for clarifying.

IMO, if Iowa can win out they are in regardless of what happens in the BTT. But that auto bid would sure be nice and could lead to a good seeding with possible hosting possibilities.

if they do win the BTT this will be Heller's 2nd although they came within a win in the BTT Championship game of doing that a couple years ago but they missed the NCAAT that year, they entered the championship game 3-0 and OSU was 2-1. OSU won and went to the NCAAT.

now they might get another chance to close the deal.

Can we or have the facilities to host? Wasn't that a hurdle back around 2015 or do you have to 'submit' etc?

Lots of early B1G action:

IU thumping Purdue (again): Indiana 10 Purdue 2 B7
Maryland and Minnesota in a slugfest: Maryland 9 Minnesota 7 B6
Rutgers up late on Illinois: Rutgers 2 Illinois 0 B7
Nebraska on verge of sweeping PSU: Nebraska 6 PSU 5 B8

BTN+ announcers (Iowa's team of John Leo and John Evans) said last inning that Brecht was sitting at 97-99 with the fastball. Hitting his spots far better than any of his last 3 outings. Triple digits make for great headline but good control and hitting spots makes a great pitcher. As of right now, Brecht's outing is rivaling his great outing against Nebraska. (Knock on wood, fingers crossed)
