For the basketball minds, is it just Iowa or is it standard to leave you guy alone on the 3 point line to help double a guy in the lane? I feel like statistically you would be better off letting a guy go 1 on 1 for a 2 point shot and stay with your guy (leaving ball handler 1 on 1 for a shot that might drop 55% of the time) rather than leave your guy wide open for 3. I feel like Iowa has had issues with this for years. Maybe it's only because I mostly watch Iowa bball and it happens more often to other teams that I'm aware of, or is it just Iowa?

Depends. Purdue was killing us 1-1 early and they were hit from three. I would have rather seen Iowa run the double than dig. At times we did both.

When you have 1 on 1 breakdowns all the time, the team anticipates it happening and can't help but over-help.

Pentetrate, kick, swing/skip, open three. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Right on. My question is what if we just allow that player to do his best on that 1 on 1 scenario. Is there a better chance over the course of a game that many more of those 1 on 1 shots will fall vs the wide open 3?
