Here is how the 2016 Big10 West Football race will sort out...

Wisky could start the conference season 0-4...MSU,Michigan,OSU, and Iowa, are their first 4 conference games.. They lost their stud DC and hired a defensive backfield coach with zero coaching experience...they need to replace 3-4 starters in the defensive backfield..Thinking they actually could be 2-6 in their first 8 games overall..

It would take another remarkable season for Iowa to go undefeated again. Just too many variables to say 9-0 is a given. To be honest, the West is once again wide open. Every team with the exception of Purdue (we hate the Boilermakers and must put them at the bottom), could legitimately finish around .500 in conference. My guess is that the race will once again come down to the final two weeks of the season.

PLEASE!!!!! Except there are 9 games.

There has been a calculation error by the Beantonix Prognosticator, which was built in 1950...it appears a vacuum tube has burnt out. Please stand by for corrections as they become available.

I agree. Not to mention, they open with LSU and I think their next two conference games after those you mentioned are Neb and Northwestern. It's possible Wisconsin could be a pretty good team with a pretty mediocre record. If they win the west, they're either going to be really good or the division will be really bad.

Iowa's defense is going to be very good this season. With a healthy Ott it could be scary good. And we all know what KFs Iowa teams do with really good defenses. The defense should be able to carry Iowa to at least 9-3 this season.

This thread is the exact kind of thing we need to avoid...this sort of thing is just what conjures up the AIRBHG.

For the love of St. Switham, stop this immediately!!!!!!!!

You may be right about the start- tough schedule. I am not losing any sleep about the defense, however. Loved Aranda but Wilcox with similar scheme will do just fine. Lots of folks have doubted Jimmy Leonard his entire career but he has been a success at all levels. I see him as a step up in an admittedly young secondary. More concerned with the new starter at QB. A return to sophomore form by tail back Corey Clement behind an improved OL will hopefully take the pressure off of him.
As I stated in a conversation with your LB coach two weeks ago, the West is Iowa's to lose this year.

Excellent observation.

There is NO way Wisconsin contends this year. I'm assuming you haven't looked at their schedule...

sneak peek: their 3 crossover games are OSU, Michigan and Michigan State...two of those are on the road.

Wouldn't shock me if you guys went 12-0 again. Your schedule is hot garbage again.
Hot Garbage, how original. Unfortunately, Iowa still has to play Nebraska, Purdue, Iowa State and Minnesota which hurts the schedule strength, but they did add Michigan so it is a little bit tougher. Maybe cool garbage is more like it. Hell to be honest, North Dakota will probably put up a better fight then any of the teams I mentioned, less Michigan of course.

Just like there was NO way we'd finish the regular season 12-0 last year, right?
Wait I thought you were claiming to be an Iowa fan with football and basketball tix? This obviously becoming more and more apparent that you are a troll....it's ok to not be an Iowa fan and spew garbage on here, of course we will call you out for it but at the very least man up and stop pretending to be an Iowa fan. Gooferdano is pretty annoying but at least he is man enough to rep his team proudly

Because I said you shouldn't guarantee that a team won't contend (a team that is usually in the hunt) means I'm not an Iowa fan? You are a special kind of stupid.

We have every reason in the world to think the Hawks will finish at the top of West Division next year and get a shot at MICH/OSU/MSU in the Big Ten Title game. What team in the West returns an All Big Ten QB, a running back corps that would make most teams drool, an OL that is only going to get better and multiple play makers on D (including the reigning Thorpe Award winner and Big Ten defensive back of the year)? Oh yeah, the Hawkeyes. Looking around the West, what other team made significant enough changes that they will contend with the Hawks? Obviously a lot can happen but here on the message boards on March 30, we Hawkeye fans can be pretty excited about where the team is headed this fall.

Well, to be able to beat the best of the East in the B1G Championship some time in the future, got to play them and win, whether on their turf or at home. Bucky does get OSU at home, hopefully at night.
BA has started to upgrade the quality of out of conference opponents which should help the Badgers in a lot of ways in the future. I am looking forward to the season.

This.

Never saw Iowa's season last year at this time nor do I believe we go undefeated in the BIG this season. Iowa with a bulls eye on it's back is hardly ever a good thing.

Iowa will be the team to beat in the west, which means they will get the other teams best shot every week. I can see Iowa being a better football team this year then last, but still end up losing a couple games. Would love to see another 12-0, but my hunch, especially if Michigan gets a QB will be more like 11-1 or 10-2. The Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin games will be wars. Northwestern will be salty after being pasted by the Hawks the past two years.

This is how I feel. I think we will be a better team and the schedule does work out somewhat favorable with who we play at home. It's just going to be extremely difficult to go undefeated again in the B1G. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, and certainly hope it does. That would be an amazing two year run. I worse record than last year, however, would not mean a worse team. You need a some breaks to run the table and we got a few of them last year. That being said, I was surprised how the team was able to focus on one game at a time this season. If they keep that mentality, that the only important game is the game in front of them, anything is possible.

It was an accumulation of your 112 posts.....just seeing if you are admitting you are just a troll trying to claim to be an Iowa fan or if you are going to continue with your nonsense

I'm really not sure you're just a troll. All of your posts about me seem awful trollish.
