Here we go again

Sounds like a KF pay raise coming
Yep. We've seen this movie too many times. And it always ends with Gary Barta bending over and grabbing his ankles!
I have to wonder if this isn't to get the raise in before the athletic dept runs in the red for the foreseeable future. It's going to be very tough to explain a pay raise when the AD is losing money. Just a theory, if Barta does in fact, bend over.

I believe he retires at Iowa. But just for fun...he doesn't want to break Hayden's record at iowa...did you see his response the other night when she told him he was tied with Fry? And, if he wants Bryan to be the head coach...this is perfect timing. The "hot" hires have been cherry picked. Plus the team is in good shape...I believe he has no interest in leaving.

Neither did Stoops but he retired. It was a seamless transition from Stoops to Lincoln Riley. I could see KF either retiring or giving the NFL a shot after handing the reigns over to BF.

I'd be happy with that as long as BF goes back to Oline too and Tim Polasek OC.

Good Lord you are insufferable

He probably already interviewed for the job when they were in NYC for the bowl game. That's how Nebraska does it, anyway.

Now you know how everyone feels when you post on the OT board!
There is always the "ignore feature". Feel free to engage it at any time! But I guess you'd rather bitch and complain. You're such a miserable piece.

That is just plain silly. The NY Giants area a mess. Coaches get a very short honeymoon in the NFL and the Giants are years away from success, at least success acceptable to their fans.

Kirk is 64 years old. He's got lifetime job security in the place he's live most of his adult life. His kids grew up here. All of his best memories are probably in Iowa City. Had Kirk interest in the NFL he would have gone 15 years ago.

FWIW... NDSU fans thought TP was a terrible OC...but really what do message board Fans know...LOL

I don't see how Barta could justify handing the job to BF right now.

Absolutely not. I was just talking from kirk’s perspective. Would be a great chance for him to go give it a go in the nfl before calling it a great career. Not going to happen, just saying I would be pulling for him.

I would love to see Ferentz get the NYG job and promote Phil Parker. Bring Jim Reid back from BC to become DC. We are set.

There is still the matter of a terrible Offense that needs to be addressed.

I could see Kirk going to the NFL with the right team/roster. The Giants are a mess and their best player cries on the sideline like a bi***. No way in hell Kirk would go there and deal with that situation.

Kirk has history in Cleveland with the Browns and they have some very good parts along with a ton of high picks this upcoming draft. If they come calling I could see him wanting to go there.

Yeah, I know Cleveland might go winless but with the right picks and all the young talent they could be 2-3 yrs away from a playoff team. The Giants have a turd roster and no picks of value coming

Everyone of you that honestly thinks he WOULD go, is high out of their minds. He has stated many times over the last decade & a half that he has no interest coaching in the NFL.

He’s not going and won’t even if it was seriously offered. A lifespan of an NFL coach can be 1 season and he won’t have the energy for it. Can you imagine him dealing with questions from the NYC media? This is another situation of throw some stuff at the wall by a beat writer.

FWIW KF has told his players that money dominates decision-making in the NFL, and that relationships and player development take a back seat. This is diametrically opposed to KF’s philosophy. Miguel’s personal journey under KF, has been typical of what I’ve been told by other former players: he saw talent, and provided the player with the resources necessary to succeed.

So, I don’t ever see KF making a move to the NFL.

I would be extremely surprised to see KF go to the NFL, but never say never. I know many fans listen to his press conferences and think they know him personally based on what he says, but no one here really knows what his thoughts are on taking an NFL head coaching job. Not many people get to do that. Can't dismiss the idea that, even at his age, he's thought about taking on that challenge. Even if it didn't work out and he was unemployed in 3 years -- not a bad way to go out.

Call me crazy, but so would I. I think ferentz could be very successful with a nfl roster. I almost wonder why he wouldn’t take a shot at this stage of his career.

Playing his base 4-3, no blitzing, and his known expertise on Offense? He'd be a disaster imho.

I don't see any way he could turn over enough control to his assistant coaches, to be successful in the NFL. He's been out of the NFL for so long, what kind of staff could he assemble?
