Imagine having to spend $100 to watch one match that was full of stalling. I guess that's what happened last night.

And as much as we think the rules need an overhaul, at least the outcome isn't based on a few guys' opinion of who seemed to get the better of the action. Granted, there is still too much subjectivity in the officiating (IMO, at least. . . cough, cough. . . push-out rule. . . cough, cough), but at the end of the day, at least there's a score on a scoreboard that determines a winner.

.Yes, last nite was boring as heck..
But to see that they both got over 150 million for that boring fight dam make some of these over paid people pay down on the national debt.

That was a pretty predictable outcome. I'm proud to say I've never spent a dime to watch a Floyd Mayweather fight. Last time I remember spending any money on boxing was a Tyson fight, don't remember the opponent, but it didn't go the distance. Shocker! LOL!

I used to love watching boxing on ESPN quite awhile ago, and then I saw some very "shaky" outcomes for some up and comers that had title fights coming up, one in particular where one of those guys was having a tune-up bout before his title fight he had already been awarded, and I had watched his ascension, all on ESPN. He subsequently got his ass handed to him, and he knew it. Low and behold, much to his surprise, and mine, he got his hand raised (I think Lou Duva was in the corner for the guy that got robbed - he was madder than a wet hen! LOL!).

Couple that with the 6,000 or so "World Champions" out there, and the miserable Heavyweight Division, I basically have no interest in the sport anymore. What a shame.

Can't figure out why people keep paying to watch that guy....
Because he's so polarizing. They either are fans of the character he plays or detest him and want to see him get his ass kicked. He perpetuated this by pulling out the $100 million check during a post fight interview. He's either a clown or brilliant or both.

The outcome was predictable and I wish I could have raked in just a fraction of a percent from the fools betting either guy would get knocked out.

Mayweather has played the anti-hero to a tee. Too bad folks will remember him more for that than his ring general-ship.
I'm sure he doesn't give a rat's behind.

"SOME" college wrestlers get tattooed with the same legacy, don't they???

Yeah Mayweather sure is dedicated to his role as the anti hero. He even beats women as a part of this role. What a true businessman.

They pay to watch pro wrestling, too. Again and again and again.

Remember Mencken: "No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people."

I don't think that did much to hurt or help boxing either way. For most viewers that will be the only boxing they watch this year and that was going to be the case whether it was Hagler-Hearns II or a dud like it turned out to be. This fight was really independent of boxing because these are the only 2 fighters that move the meter in this country- once they have fought there is nothing coming to take it's place. It was more about the spectacle than the sport. If you paid $100 expecting anything other than a Mayweather UD you haven't been paying attention, and that was the problem: most of the public hasn't been paying attention so they think they got screwed. Pac was at least a weight class-probably two- up from where he should be fighting. It was clear the extra weight added no power, just slowed him down. It was clear in round 1.

Brilliantly talented but certainly not brilliant in the classical sense
Brilliant in his figuring out how to capitalize on his physical talent and making ungodly amounts of money with it. He is not the 1st nor will he be the last to dominate the sport. But no one has and probably never will again pocket the kind of money he has stepping in and out of the ring.
