What all do you think happens during a pedicure? We soak our feet, get a foot/lower leg massage, callouses are buffed, nails trimmed if need be, then pretty nail polish goes the toenails. While we sit back and relax (and perhaps sip champagne, depending on where you go).

I had surgery on both big toes (both sides of each toe) in high school from ingrown toenails. That sh*t hurts. I finally went to a podiatrist. The podiatrist put some kind of carbolic acid on the edges of the nails and they never again grew out to the edges of my toes again. Re-lief!
