Honas offered by Wisconsin

posted this in another thread as well. I think this is indication Wisconsin is losing Edwards to the draft.
Heard that TJ has been projected to go in the second round. Would you blame him? (OL David says he is coming back:)). Jimmy wise to see what is available.

I needs this guy, just on name and looks alone!

Hope there are no further developments with Honas that might extend his recruitment beyond the early signing period. Saw a Debby insider predict for the holers of course. Hope hes not so enamored by the new regime that he forgot about us. This guy would really bring a presence next year's defense will need.

Wisky's DC Jim Leonard is doing a good job over there, so I wouldn't blame the kid if he goes in that direction.

I could totally see him picking Wisconsin for the same reason he should pick Iowa over Nebraska. Better program right now.

If he feels like he can get on the field at Wisconsin I bet he goes there. That is most likely what is holding up his signing.

Yea he probably wants to be on the biggest stage he can right now. Be a major contributor at the highest level program available to him. Wisconsin is fast becoming a perennial powerhouse. If he can play for them that means something.

Who knows what the primary concerns and/or preferences of a recruit with multiple high offers might be? There are so many which may come into play depending upon the individual. Status of the program, relationship with the coaching staff, style of play, opportunity for immediate playing time, facilities, academics, proximity to home, weather, big city vs. college town, etc. etc.

Relationship to coaches is obviously a very big factor, probably the most important. Iowa seems to be in pretty good shape here as far as I can tell.

One factor which may be a primary consideration for Honas is style of play. Both Nebraska and Wisconsin run 3-4 defensive schemes. Iowa runs a 4-3. Consequently, the role he would play at Iowa is different than that at Nebraska and Wisconsin. Does he want to be one of two ILBs in a 3-4 or the more traditional MLB in Iowa's 4-3? At Iowa, MLB is the "QB" of the defense. It is uncertain he would have that role at WI or NE. Again, I have no way of knowing his preferences but the M:B position sets Iowa apart from the other schools. Maybe that ends up being the advantage,
