Because it's not about the actual medical treatment, it's about selling the American people that minors with gender dysphoria are one of the biggest threats to our country right now. It's about selling fear.

Explain why Republicans are making the case that transgender minors are being sterilized as part of their treatment while also spreading fear about the possibility of cis women being raped in public bathrooms by transgender women.

I personally find it disgusting that our leaders are going out of their way to make already marginalized people sound like monsters. Cruelty is the point, not protecting others.
