House GOP releases budget resolution — tax cuts for rich, $5T increase in deficit, increase ceiling by $4T, $880B in Medicaid cuts, SNAP cut by 20%

Today's GOP does not give a shit about spending. They increased spending and cut taxes under both W and Trump. As long as the super rich get more money in their pockets, that is all that matters.

Last balanced budget was under Clinton.
The internet boom and Y2K helped back then. Unfortunately the new thing is now AI, which will reduce jobs.

The green energy revolution is here to help now.
It provides jobs locally, where the energy is generated (and stored).

Paradigm shift from extraction, where the bulk of the money is transient, and goes to the top tier rich folks w/ scraps going to the locals, and jobs disappearing once the extraction site is emptied.

It was pretty obvious from the beginning. When your two main talking points are 'we're going to cut trillions in spending' and 'we need to remove the debt ceiling' it means you have no intentions of balancing any budget.

Trump made that very clear when he endorsed that fu**ing creep Mike Johnson for Speaker.

Also, it's pretty laughable seeing libs bitch about the lack of fiscal responsibility. It's been 30 years since either party has shown any of that.

But Trump says he'll bring in so many jobs with his tariffs.....

The last time we had steel and aluminum tariffs, the net job loss was around 70-75k.
Because the steel and aluminum industry employs very few people; the steel and aluminum users employ many thousands, and they have to shut down production when they cannot source inexpensive raw materials for the things they make.

I'd impose minimum across the board cuts to all areas of the budget,.. 1% per year, for the next 5 years.
Serves as a starting point. I’d offer that no department gets an increase if they fail an audit, and have some sort of penalty if they don’t.
They haven't been fiscally responsible IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! It's a freaking myth. Figure it out. Look this shit up. Reagan was FAR from fiscally conservative and responsible.
This is why I argued Harris lost on messaging more than she did policy. Republicans have run on that myth for decades.
Not sure what makes up your 4.5T but I would retain current tax cuts from the first Trump administration, but not introduce new tax cutting measures until after the result of spending cuts can be viewed...
Personally I’d argue that there should be no tax cuts until we bring the debt down to a manageable level.

AI will reduce jobs, but it will also add many others,.. Net result will likely be good for the economy but bad for wealth disparity...

You do not appear to understand what this actually means.

Go and study Russia and how those folks live, and the ability of Putin to arrest anyone who questions him and make them disappear for a "refresher".
We're not arresting them; they simply cannot remain employed in the Government when they are part of the problem.

U.S. made steel is what we need. At one time we were the worlds leader in steel production, we must return to that.
