Housing is now unaffordable for a record half of all U.S. renters, study finds

LOL
Who's blaming it on the feds joel?
the complaint was on Biden, went inflation adjusted rents have not increased that much. So its kind of a funny argument. Then goes back to Northern saying we can't discuss Bird or Reynolds in regards to the gambling investigation. For me its just funny watching a fish flop.

Try English next time.

The politicians are making this a Dem/Rep thing and it is being presented on a national stage…affordable housing is a huge problem in DSM, WDM, Urbandale, Waukee, Pella…. Most everywhere I am familiar with…
Point is, when we see these dismal economy polls. Rising housing costs are one of the reasons people say the economy sucks.

Where folks point the blame is up to them. I think it's a local/state issue.

LOL, try actually responding to what I posted. You attacked Joe for high rents. You have also defended DCI, Reynolds and Bird in the gambling investigation. What are we missing other than your massive deflection when you know you are unwilling to answer why you are willing to flip flop on the 2 situations dependent on whether those in charge are democrats or republican. If you need help understanding that I am sure my 10 year old son can explain it to you.

Cons are funny people.

Cons: Libs are socialists.

Cons: Capitalism rules.

Cons: Capitalism has raised the price of homes too high.

Op and usual suspects - Let’s pretend that we care about the poor and lower middle class for a moment. What can we do: Blame Biden!

Both of these are false.
This is one of the reasons the economy isn't polling well. Not being able to afford rent has a direct effect on people....3.3% GDP growth doesn't. Not being able to afford the high interest on home loans etc...

That's the headwind Joe faces when trying to sell bidenomics.

Holy shit where the hell did I go wrong. You responded to the headwinds Joe faces saying there is a large disconnect between Americans and politically minded democrats. Do I really need to bring the receipts where you have said we can't question Bird or Reynolds but should only talk to the county attorneys????

Again a post where Northern appears to be flipflopping and outright lying.

What is your solution for 20 million illegals?

Yeah and they blamed it on oil prices before, and then they blamed it on inflation. So with Inflation coming down, gas prices coming down, rents and housing even coming down in over 50% of markets, we need to hold onto something to be mad about.

Supply and Demand is a bitch. Importing illegals has a negative affect, color me shocked.
Whew, I guess I am just one of the lucky ones. In my 35 of years of renting/owning apartments and homes, illegals have been a problem exactly zero times where I live, shop or eat. It's a good thing I live in an area that is small and secluded like Kansas City that all these illegals can't find.

Ok I am going to try it a different way since you claim its false (LOL) -

Northern Believes in the following:
1. Biden is doing a great job with the economy and rents have only gone up slightly more than inflation over the last several years
2. Bird and Reynolds are at the top of the food chain in Iowa and need to get to the bottom of illegal searches in Iowa and face backlash for the illegal search and resultant plea deals. Let alone all the other individuals whose privacy was invaded in the process.

Thanks, I really appreciate you for clearing up the confusion.

Affordability is a moving window. The renter can't afford high rent anymore, but they still own a $40k+ vehicle and go out to eat and the bars all the time, drink their Starbucks, and go to Cancun over spring break.

Sell your car, take your own lunch to work, or (gasp) move to a less nice apartment. Boom! Now you can afford it again you pathetic little sissy, excuse making, left leaning, pieces of shit.

Well, when you have millions of illegals competing for entry level housing, it has an effect, right? Who's responsible for the influx? Who welcomed it? Who won't compromise on it? Federal government, especially the executive branch...
This is incorrect. It is the House Republicans that won't support a bi-partisan Senate proposal. They see it as a tool to try to get Trump elected and have no interest in a solution.

People invested in the market are happy with their portfolios,.. people who live pay check to pay check see nothing but problems.
I recall a Republican Congresswoman asking, when Biden wanted to cap insulin prices, "What is he going to want to cap next, food??" So Republicans are LOVING this...they don't want to fix it.

Huzzah for capitalism!
Goddamn right, considering how miserably poor the vast majority of mankind was before capitalism.

"It is old-fashioned, even reactionary, to remind people that free enterprise has done more to reduce poverty than all the government programs dreamed up by Democrats."
-Ronald Reagan, Address as Governor of California, 1972

What is your solution for 20 million illegals?

First show me where they are illegal? It’s not illegal to claim amnesty.

Second, show me where they are a net negative.

And solution: Start putting employers in jail for illegal hiring.

But 1/2 the GOP wants the labor.

The other 1/2 wants the issue.

Nobody in the GOP wants a solution.

The Republicans told us this morning that we have to wait on possible solutions until next year.
What do you think of GOP's efforts in Florida regarding holding employers accountable for employing illegals?

Has the doom and gloom that TC Nole OX was dreadposting about last summer come to pass?

How many arrests has there been of employers?

What is the Republican plan to deal with high rent, OP?

Too Damn High Rent GIF
Why should this be a republican plan? Why not democrat plan? President Biden could do something if you want to go that route. Just like having us all pay for $5B in student debt.

The government spending and Biden policies put us into this mess and now you want them to create legislation to fix it? The same government that created this you trust to fix it? Biden is running this country like his own personal piggy bank which has created this mess.
I don’t much care for Trump but I support his policies.

The Democrats produce plans, the republicans do not. Even the bi-partisan plans get shot down in the House because of the far right constituency.

What are Trump's policy proposals to address this?

I have no problem in general. I do think it will be interesting long term to see the impact.
