How do you spin this?

Biden wrote the 94 crime bill that hurt blacks. Kamala threw a bunch of blacks in jail.

Trump reminded Cubans about Cuba’s politics and similarities to what Biden wants to install. Plus blacks and brown people had low unemployment numbers during his term.

Suburban white women don’t like Trumps speak. They are offended

More Hispanic and Black voters casting for Trump than in 2016

More whites voting for Biden than voted for Hillary in 2016
I expected answers exactly like @IA_HawksFan. When you cannot answer a question, you belch out insults. @cigaretteman , the board propagandist, doesn’t seem to have a copy and pasted “report” to dispute it. Am surprised that @aristotleiowa didn’t show up burping out every “ist” and “phobe” word they can think of, but I guess that wouldn’t look too good when more minorities voted Trump and more whites voted Biden.

Guess somebody didn’t realize thousands and thousands of Venezuelans fleeing socialism have been added the last few years to the thousands and thousands of Cubans who fled communism in Miami.

Makes for a harder sell by Democrats.

No... I think you mean it makes the R’s socialism lies more effective.

No, those people have just gotten a closer view of where handing more and more of the economy to be run politicians and bureaucrats gets you.
Among those who ran away from where that leads there is greater reluctance to go down that path again.
Not complicated.

Seems you are implying those minorities are not as smart as those white people who abandoned Trump. Hmmm....
Uh, no. I’m making an observation about voters who fled authoritarian regimes only to vote for a candidate who’s a wannabe dictator.

Also weird they vote for the candidate with authoritarian impulses.

That’s where people go when they are afraid the communists will loot their business. Either through the window or through the government.
That’s why the riots are so counterproductive.
The productive parts of society will definitely want the authorities to put an end to that shit.
Authoritatively.

As a Cuban American, I can tell you it wasn’t the socialism that wrecked us....it was the dictator and his puppetry of the institutions. Confident that’s what ails our Venezuelan friends as well. It’s odd to be on the Iowa board and see so many at odds with farm subsidies....somebody’s cashing those checks that fly in the face of the free market.

Are we even sure what the OP has stated is true?

Assuming more blacks did, in fact, vote for Trump in 2020 than 2016, is that because more Blacks voted overall?

It's possible, but it's also possible that Biden turned off a chunk of the black vote (i.e. "you're not really black if you don't vote dem"). Add to that, that not every POC is totally sold on the BLM movement (especially the socialist aspects) and even though Biden isn't necessarily socialist (socialist lite, perhaps), he is largely seen as the first step towards socialism and most Americans, regardless of background, want no part of socialism period.

A lot of people get so entrenched in their own beliefs that they will never accept other beliefs that don't match their own. Sometimes they won't even entertain alternate suggestions.

One of the reasons I like this board is I get to see all manner of opinions. Some actually have a basis, others are just repeated dogma. Bottom line is it helps me think outside my own comfort zone. It helps me understand people who don't think like I do.

When a candidate says "you aren't really black if you don't vote for me", that's an insult.

People at the bottom of the economic ladder are most affected by locking down the economy.

Riots happening in urban areas most affect urban dwellers.

If I'm being mistreated, or just ignored, I might be inclined to make a change. That doesn't mean I've fully bought in to a new party, it only means that I'm willing to give it a chance.

So Trump LIED to Cuban-Americans, then.

Working class folks. Look at the mass exodus from California and New York to Florida and Texas. People want to say they have liberal views...until they have to actually live with those choices.

And lied. Instilled fear...of something that would not happen, knowingly. So a lie.
You're kidding, right? The left did/does the exact same thing--fear tactics. Politicians don't tell you what the will do, they simply tell you what the other guy/gal will do. The right will 100% over-turn Roe vs Wade and marriage equality...despite no candidate has said he/she will do that. The left will abolish the 2nd Amendment, even though that won't happen.

Nope according to @Tom Paris people simply vote for Republicans because of lies.

Tom are you really a teacher? Do you believe in self-reflection at all?

No. Uneducated whites vote for Trump because they believe the lies. Very easily manipulated. I can use my FiL and his family members as exhibit A.

There is nothing comparable between the left and the right on lies. Trump leads the world in lying. There are people that trumpet the Ernst attack ads on Greenfield. 13 dollar a gallon gas. Closing all our rural hospitals. Those are lies and playing on fear. You know this. But please don't try and compare Trump and the lies he told to the American people with anything the Democrats do. Lie lie lie...and Republican voters either eat them up, or worse, don't care. Example 1 is Trump on tape admitting he lied to the American people about Covid. His base doesn't care. JUST LIKE HE SAID. He could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and they wouldn't leave him. He was spot on.

It makes me sad for my country.

You should try to see things from other people's point of view. Your preconceived notions come across as very condescending. I have friends who are Trump supporters, and none are uneducated, and a few aren't white. All are capable of distinguishing the truth from lies.

Really? Biden is flat out lying about the 2nd Amendment and Fracking among other things. It's what they do...at least I'm honest enough (with myself) to recognize both candidates are habitual liars.

Of note, it's sad your stance is the GOP candidate lies more to justify your candidate's lies. Sad state of affairs, this election cycle...sad.

Same here. That's the problem with these blind allegiances to party politics...it's not a one size fits all. Most of the Trump supporters I know are educated and upper-middle class, not some red-neck, racist hick from nowhere Alabama. Talk about stereo-typing.

I also know a lot of Texas Ranchers who support Trump, you know the "yes, sir, yes, ma'am" type of folks who will pull-over to help you change your tire...unlike those North East A-holes who'll just honk at you on the side of the road for forcing them to slow down.

...see what I did there?

Oh I do more than you think. I used to think like many of you do. They aren't preconceived notions. They've evolved over time. So your Trump voter friends vote that way DESPITE KNOWING he is lying his ass off constantly. That might be worse.

It isn't stereotyping. It is a fact that the largest section of Trump's base is uneducated white males. Followed by uneducated white females. So there you go.

Yikes on a couple different levels:

1. You’re an “educator”
2. You’re around children
That's always the idiot "go to". Ask goldmom about getting her ass handed to her by our dear moderator after questioning how I am as an "educator".

Please leave my job out of it. It gets tiresome. Be better.

Actually two of my buddies teach PE. It’s not the subject they teach, they are both very good. I think it’s your lack of knowledge when it comes to history especially Cuban politics and why those people try to float 90 miles to Florida to flee their oppressive regime.

As to telling mom (the moderator) yeah I don’t care. Lol

Edit: Also pointing out that whites are easily duped due to you having some dim bulbs in your family. Your argument is anecdotal at best and dishonest at worst.

That could be true. I don't pretend to know everyone's motivations. One of my Trump supporter friends is a banker. He's very well educated, and very successful. He supports Trump's policies on the economy. He doesn't like how Trump acts. He thinks Biden's campaign promises would be bad for the economy. It's really that simple. It has nothing to do with believing lies. It has nothing to do with racism.

The question everyone should ask is if they are better off, and is the country better off, with one system or the other. Minorities have fared better under Trump than they did under Obama, from an employment perspective.
