we will definitely drop out. During the first weeks, teams dropped an average of 8-9 spots. But we when you lose at home to NDSU, no way we stay in the top 25

I said it was a stupid game to schedule when they did it. If you are going to schedule a team that you could lose to, make sure it's a team worth losing too. Seriously, what did Iowa get from this game? They're offense and defense got exposed but they will never recover from that. Ole Miss or Louisville could have done the same thing but at least it doesn't shame the entire conference when they lose.

How many of you are going to keep using the we only have three non-conference games so it's hard to schedule a good team excuse while Nebraska, Ohio State, MSU and Wisconsin continue playing major programs?

We'll probably fall out of the rankings, but we're not nearly as bad as some you seem to think.

I agree that this was a stupid game to schedule, because it is a no-win situation. I also agree that we should schedule top-notch FBS programs instead of top-notch FCS. That will change soon, as we won't be allowed to schedule FCS opponents anymore.

I still think we have a good shot to win the West and end up in a solid bowl game. This loss stinks, but don't kid yourself. NDSU is capable of beating lots of good FBS teams -- especially when they have absolutely nothing to lose.

I think you guys are not giving NDSU enough credit.
Yes we should have won but this is a very good football team and actually would probably beat at least half of the fbs teams in the country.

If we are ranked, we are the MOST OVERRATED team in the history of college football.

Seriously need to be out, we are not top 25 worthy. Freaking Minny deserves to be ranked ahead of us right now.

We'll either be 25 or out. Until we beat Wisky or Michigan, we're done in terms of polls.

Just as everyone else said, this was a lose-lose situation. NDSU is intrinsically a nobody and we were embarrassed by them.

At the end of the day, Ferentz doesn't care. He gets to cash a paycheck that most of us wouldn't make in 10 years of working.

I don't think Iowa should move down in the polls. North Dakota St. is a very worthy opponent and I'd like to see any of the teams ranked ahead of us go up against them.
While I appreciate some kind of words from our Spartan fans....if we ever want national respect we can't drop these kind of games...no matter how good the FCS opponent is

Again, it's just idiotic to schedule this game. I'm sure Barta thought it would be cute to schedule his alma mater, but what a dumb thing to do.

NDSU is very good in the first place. They've pointed to this game all off-season. It was their bowl game. They had nothing to lose. We blow them out, it was expected. No big deal for them.

Why any FBS program would schedule the best FCS team in the nation, with nothing to lose and everything to gain, is beyond me. And it's not like NDSU was bad when we scheduled them. They've been a perennial power for a long time.

Obviously should have won the game, but just a ridiculous idea to have put them on the schedule to begin with.

Hawks crush a poor Ames team last week by 40 points and DROPPED one or two spots in the polls. Losing a game should be worth a ten spot fall..
