How Good Is Nebraska?

Woah, woah. Sorry I ruffled your feathers, mate!

I'm just saying we aren't very dominant usually. We win ugly. Always have, always will.

And I don't know why you bring up common opponents with Nubraska to prove that we don't struggle. That makes no sense.

Nebraska just seems to be rolling now and if we get behind it's gonna be trouble and a half for us in Lincorn.
You claim we struggle against weak opponents but over looked the entire part of my post that states we have not trailed one time in the 4th quarter and the only "close" game(s) were against Wisconsin (far from weak) and Minny (5 point game on scoreboard but not really that close)....and stop using the term we, you are not one of us

Ok for one it is obvious you are not an Iowa fan, nice try though and stop using the word we. Secondly, how in the world can you say iowa has struggled with inferior teams, especially when our record with common opponents to Nebby is 5-0 to their 1-4....the fact that Iowa has only trailed a TOTAL OF 12 PLAYS in the 2nd half (2nd game of the year) and has never trailed NOT ONCE IN THE 4TH Quarter...how can you justify that what so ever?!?!?! Actually let me answer that for you, you can not and it is obvious you are a troll

Dude, your mind must be bottled. Struggling doesn't mean we trailed. Just that it was way closer than it should be for how good we are.

Even if they do somehow by grace of Tom Osborne beat Iowa on Friday - they still haven't sniffed a B1G title game.

Enjoy your late December Detroit bowl game.

Not that it matters, but we played in the 2012 B1G title game... What hotel should we stay at in Detroit? You should be familiar with the area, since Iowa's been playing bowl games there since the programs' inception.

Our offense has gotten considerably better since the whisky game. If we played them again we'd beat them by 20 minimum.
We don't need to throw td passes we are a well balanced team, we just run them in.

Another thing is I think we beat Michigan state too without the refs blessings.
Make no mistake this game could go either way. We won't get any pressure on Armstrong, but we will contain him....ok. this is one of those games where they will get their yards. We just need to capitalize on their turn overs and make the 3rd down conversions. It'll definitely be a tough game and a lot of nashing of teeth. I think we can squeeze out a victory. Who knows could be like the Michigan state game some years ago when we completely destroyed them. Nothing was going their way...and it snowballed. Both teams were decent and hawks probably weren't expected to win by much anyway. Could also be the other way around. Hawks could get blasted. Sometimes when two evenly matched teams play, bad luck can snowball.

Armstrong goes through his progressions and stays within offense it will be an incredibly long and sad day for Hawkeye fans. You have not played a team this year where you will see so many open receivers. Riley's offense is pretty slick and if TA hits those open receivers its ball game but if he runs around throwing the ball up for grabs and into triple coverage your o-line will end up wearing N out and you guys should win.

Might as well chalk this up to our first loss cause the last 4 games we haven't even blitzed more than a couple times a game. We just sit in there and let them throw 15 to 20 a crack.

If Nebraska has this roster healthy that ha c played the last 2 games and beat Michigan State, they would be a 9-2 caliber team right now. I believe this unit wouldve beaten Wisconsin, Northwestern, Illinois, and Purdue.
Yeah championship every year. Lol.

We're sniffing it right now you dummy. You're sniffing 5-7 at the present moment you dirty mother fusker. Beathard experienced it once before and ran for a TD the last time he was there by the way. Dirty, dirty, dirty Fusker.

Lol.......is that you, Smeagol?

This is the part that scares me. They have had some bad games and they have had some good games. This team is very jekyl & hyde type team. I hope we get the team that played Illinois/Purdue and not the team that played MSU.

I think its a tight ballgame and if Iowa doesn't play up to par, they could get beat. THE SI cover is out, so let the curse begin.

I think the part that many forget is that we're installing an entirely new staff and system. I think our record this year is indicative of that.

The encouraging thing is that, unlike under Bo.....we appear to be getting better as the season progresses. The kids are buying in and are finally able to let their athleticism take over.

Your QB is a gamer and if we can't pressure him, it's going to be a tough game. But only a fool thinks that our record is indicative of our ability right now.

There's a reason that your best team(maybe ever) is favored by 1 point against arguably, one of our worst teams ever(W-L record).

If we're favored by 1, Koehn better be able to hit his extra points.
Also, you must be mistaken, this isn't out best team ever. The teams we have played aren't as good as some years past when we were better than we are today. This ties our most wins tho.
Best, most talented team? NO. Best QB... possibly.
We have a good team that plays good together.

Iowa's defense will be the best defense Nebraska has played all year. Iowa just doesn't give up big plays.
That would normally be a safe statement, but I hate to say not true right now, at least over the last 3 games. No way the defense we saw over the past few weeks is the best Nebby has seen all year. Going to hope for respectable on D and to win it with the O

No one has ever said this is Iowa's best team. Personally our 2009 team was better and I would argue 2002 was much better overall team. So to say this is Iowa's best team?? That's a stretch. They are 11-0, but they are not world beaters. No one has ever said that they are the best team in Iowa History. So you need to check your Iowa History.

Your worst team, I am pretty sure there were some bad teams under Callahan. The only saving grace was that you were in the Big 12 North and there was no competition in that division.

Iowa will get a if taste of humble pie as you guys can only dream of sniffing national championship. Beathard has yet to experience the hostile environment that he will experience in Lincoln

LOL at Debbie being hostile. Sure was hostile last time we played there and won by 3 tds. FYI, Beathard ran for a 40 yard TD that game in clean up time. Wisconsin on the road is way tougher.

Scoring on a late game bootleg doesn't par in comparison to preparing for a team knowing you will be every down starter. Just another dillusional. Hawkeye fan

And thinking Debbie is a tough place to play when everyone wins there this year is being delusional as well.. Well, you did get the refs to give you the game vs MSU thanks to the'push' out of bounds and the no hold call when Calhoun was being put in a headlock.

I guess I'd ask why Husker fans think that they are putting it all together now when the only proof they put "it all" together was kicking Rutgers' ass.

Let's examine this for a moment.

You shut down a team that was missing it's best offensive playmaker, and you lit up a defense that hasn't really stopped anybody with a pulse this year.

Prior to that, you beat MSU yet gave up 38 in the process. I don't call that defensively "putting it all together", would you?

And lest we forget how that last touchdown occurred.

I would then state you have not put it all together given not one single game's evidence, and can offer zero proof that it indeed is occurring right now. Unless you want to use the "we had a good couple weeks of practice" line of course.

Dude, we beat an undefeated MSU team a week before Rutgers.

Haha......1-5, Jerk-N-Hawk.

Not sure what 1-5 means. You were 1-5 vs the teams Iowa played this year? That's probably true. BTW, cute comment. I'm guessing you're 15? Of course, you could be 30 (if you live in Neb), seeing what the the education system is like in Nebraska.

No Iowa fan should ever mention another team holding, LOL

Fixed it for you. Holding happens on every play in football. Watch the pros and college there is holding on every play. The reason it doesn't get called is because it has no effect on the play, so there is no point in calling it.

Please name one time iowa played Detroit. 70-31 isn't playing in the championship, that's an ass whooping.

Wow, I didn't realize he was quite that bad. However, I have heard that he can often win the ones he shouldn't and he's proved that again this year with MSU.

Our team this year is soaring in the rankings; that's why I'm a little worried.

So glad to have the stability we have in Iowa City.
Then enjoy your yearly average of 5-6 wins. Soaring like a rock in a pond...

A fan would know that 1-5 is KF's record against NU. You can say Memorial's not a tough place to play, but your recent record against us says otherwise. Hell, it really doesn't matter where we play you, actually.

It'll be fun to rain on this parade coming from the east. Glad you've got it chalked up as an easy win already. Will make it even sweeter.

This will be an excellent game. There is very little difference, if any, in the talent level of these teams. This game will be a very close game, like almost all of them.
